When you’re getting to work on curating a museum, as you’ll focus on in Two Point Museum, you’re definitely going to need some artifacts and displays before long, or your patrons won’t be coming back (or donating on their way out). Send your staff on expeditions to unlock new items for your museums.

Two Point Museum Review: One For The History Books
With a surplus of customization options across several fleshed-out museums, you’ll be curating for quite some time.
Every Place of Interest (POI for short) has a list of unique rewards that your staff can bring back, offering everything from fossils to fish to outright problems for the crew. Here’s where you’ll find every exhibit in the Places of Interest menu in Two Point Museum.
Each Place Of Interest Has Its Own Discoveries
While you’ll likely be familiar with the different themes for each museum, you arrive to each location to find you’ve only got a handful of little exhibits to get the ball rolling – from there, it’s up to you to plan expeditions to retrieve exhibits for the museum, which you can do by packing your Staff up into one of your helicopters and organizing trips to each Place of Interest to investigate what it may hold.
No matter where you’re looking to send your staff, you’ll have team requirements for every location, a different combination of Staff roles and level requirements for them before the game considers them qualified for the journey. You can hand-choose who you send, or you can have the game autofill the expedition with employees that meet these requirements. Staff may even need to have specialized training to go, like Survival Skills for example, so send them to the Training Room to ensure they’re ready for the job if need be.
You can look ahead and see what each location offers in the Rewards tab when you’re setting up the expedition. Most standard POI locations have a handful of different things your Staff will discover to bring back to the museum, things like exhibits, perks, cash, resources, and more. The types of rewards you get for each mission vary based on which POI map you’re exploring.
That said, most POIs are locked from the start of your time as curator, and you’ll need to unlock the area before them to see what specific tasks or museum features are needed to unlock the next area. These requirements will include hitting milestone markers in your museum (like getting good reviews or imparting good Knowledge scores), reaching certain levels of Enlightenment, displaying certain objects, helping guests realize Dream Visits, and more.
Check Potential Dangers First And Head Out Well-Prepared
You’ll notice that there’s another tab besides Overview and Rewards on most POIs in Two Point Museum: the Events tab, which is where you’ll go to see which potential perks or pitfalls your expedition team may be up again. Here, you’ll see a list of things both good and bad. You’ll see things like potential injuries, illnesses, and MIA events, but pay attention to the more positive chances as well, with things like shortcuts and camping spots offering better perks.
Use items you’ve created in the Workshop to ward off potential dangers along the way!
If your team comes back injured, sick, cursed, or what have you, you can either wait for them to use the Bandage Box in the Staff Room, or you could even choose to send them to someplace like Remedial Springs or Curses, Curses, Curses to deal with their maladies.
Some POIs Are Obstacles That Must Be Cleared
The final thing you’ll need to keep in mind when venturing through new expedition maps is that some locations serve as obstacles that block progression into later areas of the map, and these will need to be cleared before you can move on. To clear an obstacle, you’ll need to plan an expedition to the obstacle location as normal, with the right Staff and tools to handle the job.
While obstacles don’t offer exhibit rewards, you’ll still need to clear them if you’re hoping to explore further. Your team will likely only come back with some XP for their efforts, but you’ll be free to move onto the next section of the map.
