Events in Genshin Impact are easy activities where you play a small story and complete a few challenges to claim valuable rewards. However, some events can be extremely difficult for the average player, and in those cases, a little bit of planning is necessary.
Realm of the Tempered Valor is one such event, especially if you are trying to get the Platinum medals and all the rewards. Here’s a detailed guide on how to play the event, including the best characters to pick for every challenge.
Realm Of Tempered Valor Event Eligibility
Realm of Tempered Valor Event started on February 24, 2025, and will end on March 10, 2025. You will need to reach Adventure Rank 20 to participate in the event and also complete Chapter Prologue: Act 3- The Song of the Dragon and Freedom.
If you’re a new player, this will be an almost impossible event for you to clear. If you have been playing the game for several years, then spend some time adjusting the character stats for optimal damage. Finally, if you have Mavuika, make sure she is really well-built, as a lot of the floors are DPS checks. You will need multiple well-built characters to stand a chance, as this event is more difficult than the Spiral Abyss.
There is no way to skip the minimum requirements, even though it shouldn’t take much time to meet them. However, don’t be fooled by the low entry requirements, as you will need well-built characters if you wish to receive all the rewards in this event.
Realm Of Tempered Valor Event Guide
Realm of Tempered Valor is a combat event where you have to clear one floor and proceed to the next one. There are a total of 25 floors in each challenge, but as you progress through the floors, the enemies keep getting more difficult as their HP and level keep increasing.
Your basic objective is to clear a floor within 30 seconds, and that will promote you to the next one. If your floor isn’t completed within 30 seconds, the challenge will be considered incomplete and you won’t be promoted. You will receive rewards based on how many floors you’re able to complete while going through the challenges.
Being able to clear floors early will have its advantages. If your characters are built well, and if you can clear the floors in 12/16/20/23/25 seconds remaining, you have the option to skip 1/2/3/4/5 floors, respectively.
In other words, if you clear a floor with 25 seconds left on the clock, you will be able to skip five floors. However, the number of floors you skip will decrease as you reach higher levels. If you’re at floors 14/15/16/17/22, the number of skippable floors will be reduced by 4/3/2/1/0. This means that at level 22, no matter how fast you clear, you can’t skip a floor.
You are also able to save your progress and start from wherever you want. Additionally, you are allowed to start at a much higher floor based on World Level, where the higher the latter is, the more floors you are able to skip.
Finally, you will receive buffs depending on how well your friends have done in the event. If any friend has cleared floor 20, you will receive a buff called Boon of Friendship, which offers the following rewards for your entire party:
- HP increased by 25%
- ATK increased by 25%
- DEF increased by 25%
- Elemental Mastery increased by 200
Challenge 1 – Awaken, Sanctuary Of Night Draped Spirits
While you challenge this floor, every character who is in a Nightsoul’s Blessing State will receive a 150 percent DMG boost. Additionally, while in that state, when the character hits an opponent, a shockwave dealing Pyro DMG will be released within a large area. Finally, while in this challenge, completing floor 10 will restore HP by 50 percent, and completing floor 15 will provide a one-time Energy regeneration buff that will restore the party’s Energy by 50 percent.
Ideally, you would want Natlan characters on this challenge. It doesn’t matter whether the rest of the team is composed of Natlan units, but at least the main DPS should belong to that region. The best teams to clear this challenge are:
- Mavuika, Xilonen, Bennet, Citlali
- Mualani, Pyro Traveler, Kazuha, Xilonen
Challenge 2 – Traverse, Realm Of Sudden Change
While this challenge is active, the reaction damage for Melt and Vaporize will be increased by 60 percent. Additionally, triggering Melt, Vaporize, or Frozen will boost the ATK of every party member by 60 percent, up to a maximum of 180 percent. Apart from that, the HP restoration and Energy regeneration buffs for clearing floors 10 and 15 respectively, from challenge 1 will also be applicable here as well.
It’s easy to understand that you’ll need teams that can trigger the Melt and Vaporize reactions. This means Pyro and Cryo characters will be the best suited for this challenge. The best teams for this challenge are as follows:
- Mavuika, Xilonen, Bennet, Citlali
- Arlecchino, Zhongli, Bennet, Citlali
You may wonder why none of the recommended teams have Furina or any Hydro character. The problem is while Vaporize is one of the reactions, there are Hydro enemies on this floor, which means the Hydro characters will be useless.
As such, Cryo is better suited since you can trigger Frozen and Melt while letting the Hydro enemies trigger Vaporize by themselves.
Challenge 3 – Ascend, Domain Of Whirling Gales
While this challenge is active, you receive a 1,200 percent boost to Swirl damage. Upon triggering Swirl, the character who does that will receive a 120 percent DMG boost, and their Elemental Mastery will be increased by 400. The HP and Energy Regeneration boosts from challenge 1 are also active in this stage.
While you don’t need to make any changes to the DPS characters on this floor, you’ll need to incorporate some Anemo characters. Apart from Xiao and Heizou, there aren’t any Anemo DPS units, but they both are pretty outdated. However, there are several powerful Anemo supports, and you can easily run them in some of the teams.
The best teams for this challenge are:
- Mavuika, Yumemizuki Mizuki, Ororon, Furina
- Kazuha, Furina, Xiangling, Bennett
You don’t have to worry about Kazuha being a frontline DPS, as the 1,200 percent boost will help him a lot. Make sure he has over 900 Elemental Mastery and enough Energy Recharge so that his ultimate can come back quickly. The rest of the work will be done by Furina, Xiangling, and Bennett.
Challenge 4 – Unburden, Source Of Vengeful Spite
While this challenge is active, upon healing your active character, their ATK is boosted by 100 percent. If that character receives a Bond of Life Buff, their ATK is also boosted by another 100 percent. Additionally, upon defeating an enemy, the active character is afflicted by the Bond of Life status, worth 40 percent of their HP. Finally, the HP and Energy Regeneration buffs from challenge 1 are also active in this stage.
Based on the buff, it’s quite clear that a character with Bond of Life will be worth it in this challenge. The best teams for this challenge are as follows:
- Arlecchino, Yelan, Zhongli, Bennett
- Clorinde, Fischl, Kazuha, Nahida
At the time of writing this article, challenge 5 had not been released yet.
Realm Of Tempered Valor Event Rewards
The rewards you receive for completing the Realm of Tempered Valor event are as follows:
- Special Namecard: Scorch
- Primogems
- Guide to Contention
- Guide to Kindling
- Guide to Conflict
- Sanctifying Unction
- Hero’s Wit
- Mystic Enhancement Ore
- Mora
The Namecard: Scorch reward will require 100 floor clears in total, which means about 20 floors per challenge.
