In a series first, Monster Hunter Wilds allows hunters to carry more than one weapon at a time while out on a hunt. This is a massive deal for long-time fans; however, the new feature won’t be available for players until they get a little into the story.

How to Carry Two Weapons at Once in Monster Hunter Wilds
During the second main story mission, Village of Whispering Winds, you’ll eventually have to hunt one of Monster Hunter Wild‘s new Brute Wyverns, the Quematrice.

Once the fight comes to a close, you’ll return to your base camp, and Y’sai will also come back to gift you the Seikret mounts. And guess what? The Seikrets from Y’sai have a special saddle made by Gemma that allows Hunters to carry an extra weapon.

How to Switch Between Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
Huzzah! Now, you can carry two weapons at once. However, the only way that you can switch between them is by riding on top of your mount while out in the open world. To actually switch weapons, press the right button on the directional pad.
Your secondary weapon in Monster Hunter Wilds doesn’t even need to be the same type. Go wild. You can carry a Great Sword and a Bowgun -it doesn’t matter!
You can head to your home base camp chest to add a Secondary weapon to your bag. You can also do it out in the field at a pop-up camp. Just choose the ‘Change Equipment‘ option, and then you’ll see the slot for the secondary weapon.
Can You Carry More Than Two Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Don’t be greedy! This is the first time hunters can hold more than one weapon at a time. Unless there’s some special secret third weapon slot you can unlock that we don’t know about, two weapons are the maximum number you can carry in Monster Hunter Wilds.
