It wouldn’t be a Monster Hunter game if it didn’t include some creatures that will haunt your nightmares for the rest of your life. There isn’t enough soap in the world to wash the sight of Rompopolo out of our eyes, which is all the more reason to pummel it into the ground every chance you get. If you need some tips on how to dominate this abomination, this guide has everything you need.

Rompopolo has the same resistance to all damage types, so use any weapon you prefer. Its weak points are its head/tongue and tail, while its forelegs and back take more damage than its torso and hind legs overall.
Its head, back, and tail take slightly more damage from Water-type damage, but not enough to make an elemental weapon worth carrying.

Rompopolo’s elemental weakness to water-type damage is very minor, so elemental weapons are not recommended. A high-damage, non-elemental weapon is the most effective weapon against this monster, especially one that excels at breaking parts.
One of the most dangerous aspects of Rompopolo is its ability to create poisonous explosions, so it’s important to arm yourself with antidotes or the Poison Resistance skill. Because most of its attacks are explosions that cover a large area, the Evade Window skill can help you avoid taking damage when you find yourself standing in the wrong place.
Rompopolo- Fight Breakdown And Moves
This utterly bizarre monster has a fittingly strange moveset. Rompopolo uses the fleshy sacks on its head, abdomen, and tail to build up pressurized gas that it then injects into the ground to create poisonous explosions. Safely hunting Rompopolo is all about staying nimble so that its delayed explosions do not knock you down and poison you. Luckily, there are a few ways to mitigate its relentless attacks.
When Rompopolo’s gas sacs begin to inflate, that means it’s getting ready to jam its tail into the ground and create explosions underneath you. You can delay or even stop these attacks by targeting the sac before they can fully inflate. Dealing enough damage to the sacks will cause them to deflate, halting the monster’s attack and forcing it to take time to recover. Make use of focus aiming to target the sacks on its head, back, and tail whenever they start to inflate.
Rompopolo’s explosions create rubble that you can climb onto. If you’re using a short-range weapon like Dual Blades, standing on these boulders will help you reach the monster’s sacs.
Rompopolo will use its explosions to try and zone you out. First, it will try to punish you for playing aggressively by creating an explosion in a wide area around itself. If you’re near Rompopolo and you see it tuck its tail under its body and squat down on it, roll away from it as soon as possible to get out of range of the explosion.
Similarly, Rompopolo will create explosions underneath you when you’re out of its attack range. When it sticks the end of its tail into the ground, the ground beneath your feet will start to bubble and shake. Dodge quickly to avoid the impending explosion.
When standing in oil silt it can be difficult to see the tremors on the ground that signify an explosion. It’s recommended that you fight on solid ground as much as possible.
While Rompopolo seems to fit right in in the dark and drippy caverns of the oilwell basin, you can actually use its environment against it pretty effectively. Look out for natural geysers spewing gas into the air. When you see one, lure Rompopolo towards it and fire a torch pod into the gas (you’ll usually be able to find a supply of them nearby). This will cause the gas to ignite and deal an incredible amount of damage to the monster.
