Hades 2 patch 8 has just landed in the wake of last week’s Warsong update, with developer Supergiant Games tackling notable bugs and issues alongside a range of balance changes for a few weapons, boons, and enemy types that needed them. The studio thanks players for feedback and says it hopes these changes will make for “a smoother play experience as you battle toward the final confrontation,” and adds that it’s now shifting focus to the game’s third major update.
The Warsong update adds the final zone to its surface path, leading players to the highest peak of Mount Olympus – the Summit. That means both routes of the roguelike are now structurally complete, and it also means that you’ll be coming face to face with a new final boss fight. I won’t spoil who it is, but they’ve certainly been putting Hades 2 players to the test so far.

If you’ve been finding things a little too taxing at the top of the mountain, Hades 2 patch 8 should make your life a bit easier. Supergiant has reduced both the damage and frequency of some of the new guardian’s attacks, tweaked life and armor values on their minions, and improved the camera motion between the fight’s phases.
The miniboss related to them (again, I’ll avoid naming this, but if you’ve played then you’ll certainly know who I mean) has had its damage lowered on several attacks, with particular focus on a drop to the range and speed of its notorious headbutt move. Prometheus has also had some of his attack damage lowered, although his companion Aetos is now a little stronger to compensate.
Several other foes also get damage nerfs, including the Satyr Sapper, Auto-Watcher, Auto-Seeker, and Blasket. On your side of the field, however, both the Sister Blades and Argent Skull have been made stronger. You’ll now attack more rapidly with the first two strikes of the Lim and Oros combo, and Revaal has an increased number of shells from the start along with faster recovery time after attacks.
Several Hades 2 boons also see tweaks. The Heinous Affront duo boon between Zeus and Ares can now trigger its effect significantly more often, applying all ‘after you take damage’ effects upon inflicting wounds. Hephaestus’s Premium Service legendary boon is now stronger when using the Black Coat weapon, and you’ll no longer need to be carrying the Fig Leaf keepsake from Dionysus in order to be offered Success Rate, the new Hermes blessing that makes your chance-based effects more likely.
Hades 2 patch 8 is out now. You can check the full list of changes courtesy of Supergiant Games. As for what’s next, the team says its focus points for the third major update include hidden aspects for the Nocturnal Arms, enhanced boss battles, and expansions to the game’s story as it looks towards the eventual 1.0 Hades 2 release date.
