Fortnite has stepped up its anti-cheat activities lately, and now we’ve got another update on how that’s progressing. In the latest Fortnite anti-cheat update, we’ve learned how even more actions are being taken against cheaters in Fortnite, but, we’re also seeing a bit of leniency. Epic has announced a new policy that will controversially give some cheaters a second chance.
The recent alterations will help to cut down on cheating in Fortnite esports, just like the last crackdown. However, the leniency has definitely been the part of the update that fans have taken the most notice of. With older cheaters being allowed back into the game. Fortnite Anti Cheat Update
In a new Fortnite anti cheat update, Epic has explained the progress of their crackdown since the start of Chapter 6 They’ve taken legal action against Fortnite account resellers. That’s along with some more details on the FNCS cheating lawsuit that was recently revealed.
They’ve also explained they’re taking action against Cronus devices. Cronus have removed all Fortnite tools, along with Rocket League. Epic will be perusing those who still use the devices.
The other big change is Epic making more requirements for accounts to take part in tournaments. Players now have to make use of TPM and Secure Boot. Both are security features which will help to make sure players aren’t utilizing any third-party software to get cheats into the game. Another appreciated move to cut down on Fortnite cheating in tournaments.
Second Chances for Some Cheaters
The main part of the Fortnite anti cheat update is the new measures to cut down on cheating. But they’re also giving out a second chance. This change will mean players get a one-year ban for their first offense. With the second offense leading to a full ban. However, it does mean currently banned Fortnite cheaters will get another chance at the game.
This has understandably annoyed some players, with cheaters being allowed back in the game. A second offense will still lead to a lifetime ban. However, it does seem like a lot of Fortnite cheaters might be jumping into the lobbies this weekend.
