The Infinity Blade community is making a case for the action RPG to perform a comeback now that Epic Games’ mobile store is thriving in 2025. The Chair Entertainment and Epic Games-developed title was removed from the iOS App Store on December 18, 2018, terminating its eight-year run for several reasons, including the discontinuation of support for the game on newer hardware. Additionally, Infinity Blade fans rebelled against the game’s removal and incorporating the titular sword in Fortnite as a tribute didn’t sit well with the player base either.

Released in 2010 and run by Unreal Engine 3, Infinity Blade saw players control an unnamed character who undertakes one-on-one battles within a castle ruins to confront the God King. Two sequels were released to continue the game’s triumph, and popular fantasy author Brandon Sanderson even wrote two novellas to fill in the narrative between games. Infinity Blade remains underrated in some gamers’ eyes, but it joins some of the best mobile games in existence, including Genshin Impact, Call of Duty Mobile, and Dragon Ball Legends, to name a few.

Infinity Blade Fans Want Action RPG’s Return to the Epic Games Mobile Store

As of 2025, the main Epic Games Store has an extensive list of free games up for grabs, and the mobile equivalent is successfully carrying its legacy. However, Infinity Blade remains beloved by many gamers, as other Redditors commented on how the game changed their perspective on mobile gaming. Sadly, most of the fandom believes Epic Games is too focused on Fortnite to consider revisiting this forgotten gem.

It was recently revealed that the parent Epic Games Store is nearing 300 million users in 2025, noting a 15% increase in 2024 to $1.09 billion, and boasting the 89 free games that were given away too. Currently, PC gamers can bag Garden Story and World War Z: Aftermath at no cost until February 27, and mobile users can grab both Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games for free until March 20. To continue both the parent and mobile stores, Epic Games plans to expand its mobile app this year, make non-gaming apps available across both stores, and gifting is also expected to become a new feature down the line.
