The world of Avowed is filled with NPCs that will need players’ assistance in their lives, which will often lead to a side quest. While exploring the dusty lands of Shatterscarp, you’ll meet a wounded Aedyran soldier near Tago Tower. He’ll explain how the Tower was fortified with traps by an unknown culprit, which is preventing the Aedyran army from using it as a base. This will start the Don’t Look Down quest, where players must root out the culprit while disabling traps in the tower.

How to Start the Don’t Look Down Quest in Avowed
Players can start the Don’t Look Down quest by visiting Tago’s Tower in the Shatterscape region of Avowed. The tower is located south of Ruined Village in the Shark’s Teeth area. There’s a wounded Aedyran soldier beside the entrance that you can heal with either a potion or using your Godlike ability. He’ll share the information about the traps and task players to investigate the tower and catch the culprits responsible.
So, the first course of action is to scale the Tower and reach the top to meet the people who’ve set the traps. There are multiple ways to head inside the tower, so feel free to choose the one that suits you the best.
Climbing Tago’s Tower in Shark’s Teeth
Look to the left of the entrance, and you’ll spot broken concrete pillars going up to the side of the tower. After heading up, you’ll encounter a series of traps, so you should disarm them. Go around the side of the tower until you find a wooden platform that will help you jump and climb into one of the openings.
After entering Tago’s Tower, keep following a straightforward path and reach the top of the tower. You’ll find pathways lined with several traps, so be aware of them while traversing. Also, make sure to loot any chests and items along the way, as there are a lot of them here.
After reaching high enough, you’ll find a lever that you can use to disable all the traps in Tago’s Tower. Now, all you need to do is climb some more platforms to reach the top of the tower.
Should you Convince Katoa and Haiako or Fight them?
After reaching the top of Tago’s Tower in the Don’t Look Down quest in Avowed, you’ll encounter the culprits behind the traps, Katoa and Haiako. They’ll explain their reasoning behind laying down the traps and will be hostile towards the Envoy, despite being acquaintances of Kai. You’ll have the option to either attack Katoa and Haiako or convince them to stand down peacefully.
So, if you fight and kill Katoa and Haiako, you’ll be able to loot an exceptional greatsword and a leather cuirass from their bodies. However, this means they won’t appear in any narrative plot in the future. So, it’s best to convince them to stand down with the help of Kai. Either way, this will mark the Don’t Look Down quest in Avowed as complete.
