D&D Icons Of The Realms Mr. Potato Head Miniatures Revealed

Even though Dungeons & Dragons is typically associated with fantasy realms filled with, well, dungeons and dragons, its worlds can really be whatever you want them to be. Nothing demonstrates that more in an official capacity than the recently revealed Beholder Potato Head miniatures, both of which come with additional parts so you can customize them however you see fit.

Wizkids revealed the Potato Heads during this week’s GAMA Expo with a release window of late summer/early fall. A part of D&D’s Icons Of The Realms miniature collection, although these new additions are quite a bit different, and significantly bigger, than the 100+ characters from across D&D history that are already a part of the range.

There are two Potato Head Beholders to choose from – one that will be exclusively available to buy at conventions throughout 2025, and another that will be getting a wider release. The D&D Icons of Realms: Potato Head Beholder Boxed Miniature is the one you’ll be able to buy in stores and comes with 20 replaceable parts so that you can make the Beholder of your dreams, provided that Beholder is part-potato.

One For Everyone, And Another For Various Event Attendees

With an eye in the middle and eight more on the ends of appendages around its floating body, Beholders are one of D&D’s most famous, and most terrifying, creatures. While they’re not quite as terrifying in Potato Head form, the miniatures are very unique and effectively allow you to design your own Beholder miniature. Among the 20 pieces you can use to build your Beholder are various central eyes to change its mood, a fanged mouth, and you can even give it a mustache.

The Event Exclusive D&D Potato Head miniature has the same core but comes equipped with different accessories not included with the regular model. A big smiling mouth, different color lightning, and best of all, a fancy purple hat. The parts that come with each miniature are completely interchangeable, meaning you can mix them up should you be lucky enough to get your hands on both.

The Potato Heads are three inches tall, so even though they’re almost three times the size of other D&D miniatures, they’re still pretty small. They will cost $24.99 each and be released later this year. That means in a few short months, you will be able to have a Beholder Potato Head towering over the Baldur’s Gate 3 miniatures WizKids revealed as part of the same Icons Of The Realms set in 2024.
