Kudosh is a limited currency handed out by the Department of Culture in Two Point Museum. You earn it by completing challenges and objectives, and can use it to unlock new equipment and decorations. It’s completely optional, but some of the things that you can get by spending Kudosh are very useful.

That said, there are a lot of things you can buy and you won’t be able to get more than a few at a time. If you want to make sure to spend your hard-earned Kudosh wisely, be sure to get all the basics covered before moving on to purely cosmetic choices.

Don’t worry, Kudosh isn’t a “premium currency” or a microtransaction mechanic. It’s earned entirely through gameplay.

1

New Info Stands

a variet of info stands near poulterguest rooms in two point museum.

Guests use Info Stands to learn about nearby Exhibits, increasing the overall Knowledge that they gain from their visit. More Knowledge leads to a better review, and some guests care more about Knowledge than others. Professors are particularly notable, since they make their donation decisions based on Knowledge rather than Buzz.

The basic Info Stand is enough to get the job done, but there are much better options to be unlocked as soon as you have the Kudosh to do so. In particular, Wide Info Stands and Wall Info Stands are much better for your overall museum layout; the former has a slightly better range, allowing for greater coverage and more Knowledge gain, while the latter doesn’t take up any floor space.

Once you earn your first Curator Class Rank, you’ll be able to unlock Curved Info Stands, which are extremely large and fit nicely into corners.

Staff Room Amenities

staff take a break and get coffee in two point museum.

Keeping your staff happy isn’t all that hard in Two Point Museum, as long as they get the occasional break and you keep up with their salary expectations. Having a well-stocked Staff Room that is large enough to accommodate your growing workforce will satisfy their needs.

In particular, you should unlock add install a Coffee Counter alongside the standard Water Cooler. Not only will this reduce queue times when staff get thirsty, but it will provide an Energy boost from the caffeine. Additionally, staff with the Bean-Brained trait get a Happiness increase when they drink coffee.

The same goes for Vending Machines and Junk Foodies.

The Bungle Button-Master video game console is another great addition to your staff room. It doesn’t serve any of your staff’s needs directly, but it does increase the Happiness of anyone who plays it. You should also unlock the Staff Noticeboard, which adds to the Decoration Rating of the room and can be placed in other staff-only rooms as well; this makes it a very efficient use of Kudosh.

Bathroom Upgrades

Yes, your museum’s bathrooms need to be more than just a place for guests and staff to do their business. Keeping them sightly and decorated actually goes a long way toward making sure that everyone is happy; after all, guests stay longer if every room they visit has a high overall Decoration Rating, and what’s the one room that everyone is bound to enter at least once?

Posters and soap dispensers are all you really need, but don’t forget about them when building or expanding new toilet facilities. Well-maintained bathrooms also go a long way toward getting a good rating on Health & Safety Inspections, which are a good source of extra cash and Kudosh.

4

Analysis Equipment

Analyzing Exhibits is a key means of upgrading your museum, but it’s a painstakingly long process and can eat up a lot of your Experts’ time. Adding machinery to the Analysis Room is expensive, but can dramatically reduce the time it takes to scan items.

It also increases the Decoration Rating of the room, making staff who work there happier overall.

The Server Cabinet in particular is a top buy, but at $10,000 each they’re a pricey investment once they’re unlocked. Small Server Cabinets offer half the power at half the price.

5

Workshop Equipment

By the same token, upgrading the Workshop with tool benches makes crafting a little bit faster. Some maps require more use of the Workshop than others, but even if you aren’t constantly crafting it’s handy to spend less time with a staff member locked away when they could be out on the museum floor seeing to other tasks.

The Science Museum map at Bungle Wasteland, in particular, uses the Workshop heavily due to its frequent expeditions and crafting requirements. Once you have larger buildings in place to accommodate them, you may need more than one with full kit for peak efficiency.

6

Security Equipment

The Camera Room can be a take-it-or-leave-it option, depending on your playstyle. Patrolling Security Guards can be just as effective at deterring criminals, but on the other hand, the outdoor cameras that you unlock for completing the campaign’s Security Exhibition are great for protecting Exhibits that are otherwise easy targets.

Whatever your opinion on the usefulness of the Camera Room, the Department Of Culture deems it essential, and will dock you heavily on Security Inspections if you don’t have one. On the other hand, they love to see a Camera Room with lots of high-tech gadgets that look imposing, so you may as well unlock and install them to get good ratings. At the very least, give your guard on camera duty some Security Fuel so they can top up their coffee without going all the way back to the Staff Room.

7

General Decorations

Most themed Decorations are unlocked by increasing your Enlightenment on their subject, but all-purpose Decorations are unlocked with Kudosh. These are great for mixed displays; I’m particularly fond of Wall Clocks, since they hardly take up any space and don’t clash with any themes.

This is also the category for unlocking decorative plants, perfect for walkways between buildings or outdoor exhibits! Most plants and rugs can have their colors customized, too.

8

Training Equipment

Training doesn’t take all that long in the grand scheme of things, but when you need a specific skill for a key Expedition it can feel like ages. A well-supplied Training Room, with Certificats, Diplomas, and Awards, can slightly speed up the process.

Like the other facilities, these useful objects also contribute to the room’s overall Decoration Rating, making them a more pleasant environment for the staff while they study.
