Sarada has a lot of potential in Boruto. She might unlock the most powerful Mangekyo Sharingan.

As Boruto continues, many other interesting things in the story are going to be discussed, and of course, the Tailed Beasts are going to be included in that as well. For quite a while now, the Boruto series has neglected the Tailed Beasts, all of which are incredibly important. But, they have played a role in the story sooner or later, and fans are hoping that once the Shinju are dealt with, Two Blue Vortex will be even more exciting.

How The Tailed Beasts Were Finally Freed

  • The Tailed Beasts Were Freed By Naruto At The End
  • Right Now, Their Whereabouts Are Unknown

Throughout the run of the Naruto series, the Tailed Beasts were often used as tools of war. The man primarily responsible for this was none other than the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju. Known to be a very skilled fighter, Hashirama Senju went around collecting Tailed Beasts and distributed them among the fellow nations to maintain a power balance. Of course, this was one of the reasons why the Tailed Beasts never trusted humans. Then, the concept of Jinchuriki was brought forward as well, as Hashirama’s wife, Mito Uzumaki, became the very first Jinchuriki after Hagoromo Otsutsuki. Many villages sealed the beasts inside humans and made them Jinchuriki, and all the while, it was just a way to keep the Tailed Beast in check, and to be kept for use when the village suffered the threat of war.

Don’t you all agree, that Naruto is like the Old Sage? — Kurama

Eventually, the Tailed Beasts attained their freedom after the Fourth Great Ninja War. During this war, Naruto Uzumaki secured their freedom and he went on to befriend them all. This was a major change for them, and for the very first time, they could put their trust in a human. Similarly, they claimed that Naruto Uzumaki was the next Sage of Six Paths as he loved them, saw them as more than just weapons, and most importantly, fought for them during the Fourth Great Ninja War.

Once Naruto’s battle against Sasuke wrapped up, it was quite clear to see that the Tailed Beasts were finally free. While Kurama decided to remain with Naruto Uzumaki and Gyuki stayed with Killer Bee, the others were free to do what they wanted and went about their own way. Since then, the Tailed Beasts have hardly been seen in the Naruto series, and Boruto hasn’t paid any attention to them either, even though they should’ve been central to the whole plot, especially when it comes to the Shinju.

The Tailed Beasts Are Freely Roaming The World

The Tailed Beasts Should Be Called Into Action

Fully Transformed Tailed Beasts

Right now, not much is known about the Tailed Beasts in the Boruto series. Fans know that these beasts are monstrously powerful, and that their strength is absolutely immense. However, despite that, their role in Boruto has been insignificant. The Tailed Beasts haven’t appeared in Boruto even once, aside from Kurama, who was with Naruto for a significant portion of the story and is now with Himawari, and Gyuki, who showed up for a small glimpse at the very beginning of the story. The other Tailed Beasts haven’t even made a single appearance, and that is quite odd.

Finally, you Tailed Beasts can be free! — Naruto

Fans know that the Tailed Beasts are finally free and roaming the world right now. But, they are also all connected to Naruto Uzumaki. It is rather strange that after Naruto Uzumaki lost Kurama’s powers, none of the Tailed Beasts sought him out or even checked up on him. Naruto Uzumaki was the link between the beasts. After Kurama died, that link could’ve broken, and the beasts should’ve sought him out to see what happened.

Naruto: How The Sharingan Lost Its Value In Boruto

The Sharingan is one of the best abilities created by Kishimoto in Naruto. Much of its value was lost in Boruto.

Similarly, when Naruto was sealed, the Tailed Beasts should be more than concerned, yet nothing of sorts has been shown in the story so far. As such, it is quite rightly inconsistent writing on the part of the Boruto writer, Mikio Ikemoto, to not involve the Tailed Beasts in the story more often. That said, just because the Tailed Beasts haven’t played a role in Boruto so far doesn’t mean that they’ll never go on to play a significant role in the future. They could be set for something massive, especially after Naruto Uzumaki returns, and that’s precisely what fans are extremely excited about.

What’s In Store For The Tailed Beasts In Boruto?

The Tailed Beasts Could Team Up With Naruto Uzumaki

The Tailed Beasts haven’t appeared in the Boruto series so far, but that’s not to say that they never will. Even though they’re mostly concerned with their freedom, the fact is that all of them see Naruto Uzumaki in the same light as the Sage of Six Paths. If Naruto is in danger, the Tailed Beasts should help him out, as that’s the only way the plot actually makes sense. Naruto’s disappearance should have them concerned, which means that when Naruto Uzumaki does return, they should seek him out. Kurama, who was previously assumed to have died, is now back in the story, but he’s Himawari’s tailed beast, meaning that Naruto can no longer link up with him. Because of this, Ikemoto can solve two problems with a single solution and that is to reintroduce the Tailed Beasts in the story. If Naruto takes the chakra of the Tailed Beasts and has them at his side, not only would it make him strong and relevant in the story once again, but it would also give the Tailed Beasts a role to play, solving the issue with the inconsistency of the plot.

This would be a widely welcomed addition to the story, as all fans would absolutely love to have the Tailed Beasts okay a big role in Boruto, just as they did in Naruto, since they’re at the core of the world of Naruto, and should always have a special level of importance maintained. Whether that will happen or not remains to be seen, but logically speaking, the Tailed Beasts should be concerned for Naruto and try to seek him out as soon as possible in the Boruto series. For now, Naruto remains sealed away, but hopefully, fans will see him return after the threat of the Shinju is dealt with.

Boruto is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of Boruto, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 19, is set to be February 20, 2025.
