After teasing a major announcement for February 25, 2025, The Rising of the Shield Hero has finally confirmed the release date for its newest season. The Rising of the Shield Hero season 4 is set to be released in July 2025. Streaming giant Crunchyroll has also confirmed that it will stream the fourth season. With this announcement, it joins the likes of Sakamoto Days and Dandadan, both of which will release their second season in July 2025.
The Rising of the Shield Hero also shared a new visual featuring Naofumi, Raphtalia, Filo, Sadeena, Atla, and Fohl. Fans will also notice there are two characters who are standing on either side of Naofumi. These are new characters and will debut in the fourth season of the anime.

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 Release Date & Cast
The character on Naofumi’s right side is named Werner, and he will be voiced by Takeo Otsuka, who is also the voice actor of Jinshi. Most of Werner’s body is that of a human save for his legs and feet, both of which look very bird-like. Werner also has massive wings on his back, implying that he is capable of flying.
The individual on the left is Jaralis, who is voiced by Jiro Satis. Jaralis only seems to have one human characteristic, and that is his ability to walk upright. Both new characters look mysterious, and they are likely to play an important role in the new season of the anime.
Aside from the two new additions, fans can expect the main voice cast of The Rising of the Shield Hero to reprise their respective roles for season 4.

Due to this reason, the fourth season of The Rising of the Shield Hero could make or break the anime. Another poor season would negatively affect the popularity of the series.
