In the series Takt Op. Destiny, the world has been overtaken by extraterrestrial beings called D2s that plague humanity. With the creatures being influenced by auditory stimulation, music and all melodies are banned. Alongside the sinister creatures emerged powerful duos called Musicarts, who began to combat the D2s.

Musicarts must make pacts with musically inclined people known as composers to unlock their full potential. Takt, a former piano prodigy, inadvertently obtains this power when he and his surrogate family are caught in the middle of an attack. This power turns Takt’s younger sister into a powerful weapon and himself into her conductor.
