Tekken 8 Reveals Anna Williams And Season 2 Roadmap

Tekken 8 has been soldiering along quite nicely since release, experiencing a slight uptick with the addition of Clive from Final Fantasy 16. He was always going to be difficult to top, despite some complaints from those that would have preferred Tifa instead, and it’s now been confirmed that Anna Williams will be the next act to follow in Rosfield’s footsteps.

Just like in Tekken 7, it has been announced that the second season of Tekken 8 will introduce Anna Williams as its first playable character, revealed in a gameplay showcase earlier today. In this video, we can see that Anna utilizes what is essentially a rocket launcher in her moveset, most likely trying to one up Clive’s use of his sword in the damage dealing department.

After a few cool little snippets of Anna beating on characters, as well as her sister Nina, we then get a release date that tells us when she’ll be added. Anna Williams will be added to Tekken 8 on March 31 for all of those with early access, with her full official release coming just a few days later on April 3.

More excitingly, the gameplay trailer Anna Williams also gave us our first look at the roadmap for Tekken 8’s second season, and while there aren’t any huge surprises, it’s nice to see when we can expect future character drops.

For starters, we’ll be getting four new characters in the second season, the first of which is the already announced Anna Williams. We’ll then be getting a new stage and another character this Summer, followed by another character in Autumn, and a new character and stage in Winter.

Of course, we have no idea who these characters are, though there will likely be fingers crossed that we get another big crossover character this Winter. With Clive on the roster, the chances of it being Tifa are low, but I haven’t given up hope yet dammit.
