Stardew Valley is Getting a Deluxe Edition

Summary

  • Fangamer releases a deluxe physical edition of Stardew Valley on Switch with exclusive artwork and goodies.
  • ConcernedApe, creator of Stardew Valley, continues to update the game and hints at ongoing support for years to come.
  • Deluxe edition is only available for Switch.

Stardew Valley fans can get a new deluxe physical edition of the game on Switch from Fangamer. Despite being nearly 10 years old, the game has stayed in the public consciousness, thanks to an impressive amount of ongoing support and new content from developer ConcernedApe. While ConcernedApe is hard at work on his next title, Stardew Valley still has some life left in it, and now there’s a new chance for dedicated fans to enjoy it even further.

ConcernedApe, whose real name is Eric Barone, has repeatedly made his commitment to his cozy farming sim clear. Despite actively working on another game, the upcoming Haunted Chocolatier, Barone continues to add content to his first project and has said he could even update Stardew Valley 50 years from now, never wanting to leave the game alone entirely. It should come as no surprise, then, that others would share in the enthusiasm for keeping the game alive, as seen in the latest special release from artists at Fangamer.

Why Stardew Valley is Still Worth Playing in 2025

Stardew Valley turns 9 years old in 2025, but some players still return to the game daily. Is it really still worth starting a farm in 2025?

Fangamer has announced a new deluxe edition of Stardew Valley on Switch, including a physical copy of the game with unique artwork, a 16-page comic, and a poster. It’s similar to the physical Stardew version Fangamer released in 2020, but this newer one comes with updated art and a longer accompanying mini-comic. There’s also an instruction booklet that can make it easier to get started in the game, as Stardew lets players discover a lot on their own without outright telling them what to do or how to do it. Fangamer’s standard physical copy of the game includes this booklet, too, for those who want the guide but don’t need everything else.

Everything Included in the New Stardew Valley Deluxe Edition

  • Physical game and case
  • Game manual
  • Deluxe Edition tuck box
  • Four Seasons art cards
  • 16-page mini-comic
  • 8 x 13-inch fold-out poster
  • Mini farm deed
  • Wooden lapel pin

Xbox, PlayStation, and PC users are out of luck if they were hoping to grab a deluxe edition for their systems, as the release is only for Switch. However, ConcernedApe is still updating Stardew Valley on Xbox and other platforms, so non-Switch users won’t miss out on any actual in-game content. It’s a good time to be a Switch owner and Stardew fan, though, as the included merch in the Deluxe Edition isn’t available anywhere outside this release, although Fangamer offers many similar items for individual sale on their site.

As for what’s next for the game and Barone’s future projects, there’s not much clarity on what to expect. ConcernedApe is unlikely to announce a Haunted Chocolatier release date in 2025, as he stated in November 2024 that he’s focusing on Stardew updates for now, but some smaller announcements could be in store. Future fixes and new content for Stardew may come down the pipeline, too, considering how often Barone has worked on the game in the past.
