Razer’s new upcoming Razer Blade 16 gaming laptop model will contain the world’s first implementation of a specific display screen.
Now, via an official blog post, the company has pulled back the curtain on the 2025 edition of the Razer Blade 18 gaming laptop, the top-tier sibling to the Razer Blade 16. With a larger 18″ display size, Razer promises that the Blade 18 will pack the “maximum possible” graphics power by hosting the cutting-edge Nvidia RTX 50-series GPUs, including the incredibly popular RTX 5090. Pre-orders for both the Razer Blade 16 and 18 are now open, though Razer has not specified a release window for either model as of yet.
Razer Blade 18 Specs (2025 Model)
- 18-inch OLED dual-mode display
- 240 Hz refresh rate at UHD+ resolution
- 440 Hz refresh rate at FHD+ resolution
- 0.2ms response time
- Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX
- SSD storage (from 1TB up to 2x 2TB)
- 32GB up to 64GB RAM
- Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti GPU (up to RTX 5090)
Razer is calling the Razer Blade 18 a “portable powerhouse” capable of mounting the most powerful laptop graphics hardware around. The machine will run on an Intel Core Ultra 200HX processor and, depending on the buyer’s choice, include any of the RTX 50-series GPUs: RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, or RTX 5090. The extreme graphics power will be displayed on the world’s first 18″ dual-mode display, which allows users to switch instantly between a UHD+ resolution (3840 × 2400) resolution at 240hz refresh rate, or an FHD+ resolution (2220×1080) at a much faster 440hz refresh rate. Dual-mode refresh rate monitors have been gaining popularity among desktop-based PC gamers for their ability to switch between different specs to suit the game being played. Games that look best at high resolution can use one mode, while competitive games that demand the maximum possible responsiveness can sacrifice resolution for refresh rate in another mode.
In addition to the core hardware, the Razer Blade 18 will pack other features to provide a “desktop-level” user experience, like an advanced thermal management system capable of cooling the Blade 18’s 280 watts of power consumption. It’ll also have a redesigned keyboard, with switches that allow longer travel distance compared to the previous Blade 18, and a 10-key numeric keypad. For use with media and improved performance in calls and on stream, the laptop includes THX Enhanced Audio, 7.1 virtual surround sound, and a 5MP camera with a dual microphone array.
The 2024 Razer Blade 18 was one of the best Razer laptops of the year. With the new enhancements announced, it looks like the Blade 18 will stay on that list for 2025 as well. All that’s left is for Razer to outline a detailed release window.
