The decision to reprint Mushishi’s artbook wasn’t sudden, but rather a well-thought-out one. The main reason behind the reprint is Suiheisen no Nera, a new series by Yuki Urushibara.

Yuki Urushibara Is Making A Return With New Series

Yuki Urushibara's new project

Suiheisen no Nera, or Nella of the Horizon, is a new manga series that debuted in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine. According to Yuki Urushibara, the manga will be a series of one-shots. Suiheisen no Nera follows the story of a boy whose appearance is presumed to be tied to the rising sea levels on earth.

Fans who enjoy Yuki Urushibara’s works will unquestionably try Suiheisen no Nera as they are aware of her writing quality. Even people who have never tried any of her previous works should try Suiheisen no Nera. The unique story is brought alive by Yuki Urushibara’s artwork. It looks simple but manages to encapsulate the feeling properly.

Mushishi Manga Is Getting A Reprint

  • Mushishi’s collector’s edition has been announced
  • Viz Media also announced Kingdom’s English release

The reprint of the artbook and the release of a new Yuki Urushibara project are more than enough for long-term fans, but there is one more major update that fans are bound to enjoy. On February 15, 2025, Kodansha confirmed that the Mushishi manga will receive a reprint, and it will be a hardcover edition instead of a regular paperback.

The reprint is being called a collector’s edition, as it will feature a brand-new translation and cover illustrations. According to Kodansha’s official website, Mushishi’s collector’s edition will be released in Fall 2025. Mushishi’s collector’s edition volume 1 is already up for pre-order on Amazon. It is priced at $29.99, and it will be released on November 4, 2025.

Seeing Mushishi getting a reprint after all these years is great news for all manga fans, but it’s not the big release of 2025. Earlier this month, Viz Media officially announced the English release of Kingdom.

For years, fans have been waiting for Yasuhisa Hara’s manga to be released in English, and now their dreams have finally come true. Those interested in purchasing Kingdom manga can do so on November 11, 2025.
