It’s no secret that stock of the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 is hard to find, but as revealed by Overclockers in the UK, it could take up to 16 weeks for customers to receive a card they have already pre-ordered.
You can read our RTX 5090 review to find out why this is the best graphics card that money can buy for 4K gaming. However, Nvidia has struggled to keep any of its new gaming GPUs in stock, and this has also caused prices to skyrocket around the world. Overclockers’ openness with its lead times is refreshing, but also concerning given how long some gamers will need to wait to get their hands on their pre-orders.
In the update posted to X (formerly Twitter), Overclockers UK spilled the details on lead times for pre-orders on RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090 pre-orders. These cards that have already been ordered by customers, with stock yet to be delivered.
The given timescale for the RTX 5080 is the shortest, with stock expected to be with customers in the next two to three weeks. As for the RTX 5070 Ti, this could be anywhere between two and six weeks.
Unsurprisingly, it’s the RTX 5090 that has the longest lead time, but the potential 16-week wait is ideally just a worst-case scenario, as it states the full expected timeline is anywhere between three and 16 weeks. This is comically broad, but there is a chance that some customers could receive stock a whole three months sooner than others, depending on which specific card they ordered.
To get ahead of complaints about the stock of these cards appearing as available to the public on their website, Overclockers notes it only lists available stock “for SKUs which have no outstanding pre-orders.”
