In the world of Helldivers 2, players do everything necessary to help Super Earth reach its goal of galactic freedom. This involves fighting against the dangerous units that belong to the Terminids, Automatons, and Illuminate, which means every person will need to utilize whatever they can in their arsenal. There are numerous weapons to choose from that can help deal with the threats, but they aren’t the only options. Vehicles can also be utilized to take down the opposition, with the Exosuits being one of the more popular options. The game’s mechs offer a lot of power and decent protection, yet they can still be improved. Arrowhead Game Studios has the opportunity to do so by allowing the next one to take inspiration from another popular vehicle, the Fast Reconnaissance Vehicle.
Utilizing any Exosuits in Helldivers 2 requires one skilled pilot to control everything from its movement to the weapons it shoots to take down anything considered an enemy. Interesting and fun as that may sound, the game’s Fast Reconnaissance Vehicle, or FRV for short, shows that a lot more enjoyment can be had if a vehicle allows more than one person to be in it and has features that ensure they’re more than just passengers. If Arrowhead Game Studios plans to add more Exosuits, the next one could be made so that it can have two or even three riders simultaneously, giving the mechs even more potential for future growth.

A Helldivers 2 player shares a silly discovery they made piloting a mech in the shooter, and fans won’t be able to get the detail out of their heads.
What Can Be Implemented in the Next Exosuit to Make It Warrant Having More Passengers
Helldivers 2‘s Exosuit mechs are powerful machines, but they could be even better if it allowed an additional player or more to tag along for the ride. Should an update bring in a new one, then there are a few things that can be done to allow it to have more than one passenger:
- The Exosuit could have a rear pilot that offers covering fire from the back, protecting the mech from any would-be flanking enemies
- There could be a gigantic and powerful Exosuit that can only fire if it has players manning each of its weapons, allowing for a vehicle whose destructible capabilities can only be used with a team
- The game can introduce an Exosuit whose functions can be controlled by any of its multiple passengers, requiring people to play with perfect coordination should they wish to ride side-by-side
The Exosuits have a wealth of potential that has yet to be tapped by Arrowhead Game Studios. Hopefully, the developers will consider the ideas that will help turn them into more engaging vehicles similar to the FRV, as its potential for improvement is too high to ignore.
Why the Change Is Something Helldivers 2’s Exosuits Need
As Helldivers 2 continues to get updates, more and more environments and threats are being introduced that the current Exosuits can no longer hold up against. As the game changes and increases in difficulty, it should provide players with resources to help them deal with what they’re bound to face to keep gameplay fair, with the Fast Reconnaissance Vehicle being a good example. By giving future Exosuits the ability to have multiple passengers, and perhaps a few buffs to its movement, they can remain relevant regardless of what mission they’re brought into. All Arrowhead Game Studios has to do is create new ones with features that warrant additional drivers or riders, and the mech can finally find itself back in the spotlight.
The future of vehicles in Helldivers 2 may involve more additions that allow for more than one pilot or passenger, and Exosuits should be a part of that. If the mech remains the way it has since its introduction, it may find itself neglected over other options with better features and utility, which is why it needs to change for the sake of itself and the players who still enjoy it.
