1
Macht, The Golden
The New Main Antagonist To Beat
- Manga Debut: Chapter 84
- Affiliation: Independent Demon, Seven Sages of Destruction (former)
Also known as Macht of El Dorado, this is a Demon who once co-existed with humans in the city of Weise. Alongside his master Glüc, they worked towards the prosperity of that land until a fateful day when Macht’s demonic nature got the best of him, and he ended consuming everything around him and turning the city of Weise in a quarantine zone that the Continental Magic Association blocked with a powerful barrier. His powers include incredible martial prowess, and the ability to turn everything into gold (ergo the nickname).

The core of Frieren Season 2 will be the return to Weise with Denken as the head mage from the association, who has managed to become a First Class mage for the sole purpose of being allowed to return to his hometown and face that who once was his master: the Demon Macht. The El Dorado arc will also give way to several other important developments, but Macht will remain as the main antagonist through most of Season 2.
2
Glück Of Weise
A Character Related To The Past Of One Of The Best Characters Of The Series
- Manga Debut: Chapter 90
- Affiliation: Regent of Weise
Glück was the Feudal lord of Weise and raised Denken as a son after his parents were killed by demons. He ends up making a pact with Macht to help him experience human emotions in exchange for his compromise to not attack any of the residents of his fiefdom. Ultimately, this ends in tragedy, and Macht goes on a rampage, destroying the town and everyone who happens to be there.
Glück is a decent feudal lord and one who believed in the coexistence of humans and demons. Sadly, though he was more or less able to convince Macht to behave and consider living among humans, in the end, tragedy struck and all was lost during Macht’s rampage.
3
Solitär, The Nameless
A Disgusting And Hateful Being, And Frieren’s New Nemesis
- Manga Debut: Chapter 88
- Affiliation: Independent Demon, Seven Sages of Destruction (unconfirmed)
Solitär is a mysterious demon that shouldn’t have existed, but due to certain incidents, she ended up becoming a tremendous threat to Frieren, Stark, and Fern. Obsessed with understanding what makes humans and demons different, she lives isolated in a distant lighthouse, surrounded by the skeletons of marine creatures, and her research.

These isekai manhwa monsters are certainly the stuff of nightmares!
She might look like an underdog, but in reality is as powerful as any of the Demon Lord generals and has been dubbed the Nameless because she refuses to accept certain customs from the demon society. So, she is an unlikely demon, and perhaps, one of the most dangerous ones. She is not only extremely intelligent, but she is also quite capable of casting magic at extreme speeds and predicting Frieren’s moves, which makes her a complicated foe to beat.
4
Schlacht, The Omniscient
The Demon Lord’s Second In Command
- Manga Debut: Chapter 63
- Affiliation: Demon Lord’s Army, Seven Sages of Destruction
One of the Demon Lord’s confidants and his right hand, a demon capable of seeing the future through the thin threads of magic that link people and demons alike. At the time Frieren and Himmel were traveling together to beat the Demon Lord, Schlacht was tasked to gather the wayward Demon Generals to beat The Hero of the South, a warrior that was on par with Himmel and was causing trouble for the Demon Lord forces in that region.
Consequently, he embarked on a journey to recruit Macht (who refuses) Solitär, Grausan, Rivale, and other powerful Demon Generals, all to kill that man who was causing tremendous damage to the demon race’s advances on the Continent. He seems to be aware of most of Frieren’s moves and holds a tremendous grudge against her since she was the one who delivered the final blow that destroyed his liege and caused the demon race to scatter to the winds. Everything seemed to point to Schlacht being the main candidate to become the next Demon Lord, and the final enemy to beat during Frieren’s second journey. His last whereabouts seem to indicate that Schlacht perished alongside the Hero of the South, though this wasn’t enough to kill him.
5
Grausam, The Miraculous
A Formidable Foe, Capable Of Beating Frieren
- Manga Debut: Chapter 89
- Affiliation: Demon Lord’s Army, Seven Sages of Destruction
Grausan was a prodigy of the demon race and a powerful mage that has killed countless humans before. He was recruited alongside Rivale and Tot to defeat The Hero of the South. Grausan’s powers are unknown, but they seem to be related to illusion magic, and the capability of stealing the memories of his foes through the use of advanced mirages that simulate a perfect life while his foes are unaware of what is going on in reality.
During Season 2, Grausan will appear as one of the main antagonists and will be directly related to a certain incident that will drag Frieren into a journey that transcends time and space. He’s a troublesome foe, feared and respected among his kin, and known to be a ruthless killer.
6
The Hero Of The South
Was Fighting Demons Even Before Himmel Made It Cool
- Manga Debut: Chapter 63
- Affiliation: Continental Alliance, Southern Kingdom
Even before Himmel and his party headed to confront the Demon Lord in his castle, a single man led a war of attrition against the Demon army, causing such an upheaval and deterioration among their ranks that the Demon Lord sent his best vassals to handle him in a conflict known as the Battle of the Northen Plateau. There, the Seven Sages of Destruction (Demon Lord Generals) faced this nameless Hero and killed each other.
It is said that he was able to take down at least four of the Seven Sages, including their leader Schlacht, The Omniscient, before finally perishing. But it is also possible that Schlacht survived and he is planning the return of the Demon Lord as part of his agenda to rule over the world, subjugating all the other races to their will. Who knows how the story will unfold once the dark truth about The Hero Of The South’s demise is revealed.
