In a world where any sort of couch co-op is rare, Coridden lets you and up to three other friends play together to tackle the Diablo-style RPG by indie developer Aftnareld. Its main objective is to fix the gauntlets that give you shapeshifting powers, and while the central plot isn’t anything grand, fighting monsters and going around the wild is always a good time.
The game has four siblings, each with different personalities. Similarly, it has four classes with unique abilities that determine how every character plays. There’s also a custom class option, though the pre-made classes definitely help with the immersion aspect.

Guardian Class
The Tank
- Skill trees: Protector, Punisher, and Commander
The Guardian class in Coridden is designed to be a tank that can handle damage while protecting allies. You can put up a strong defensive front if you choose the Guardian class, even if you’ll have limited offensive options compared to other classes. This class could be best for you if you prefer to focus more on the win instead of being the one to land the final blow. Guardians are strong leaders and can increase the morale of allies, possibly changing a battle’s outcome.
A Guardian’s play style is heavily centered around sponging most of the enemy’s damage to let allies deal the finishing blow. The Protector skill Attractor, in particular, is excellent at keeping allies away from stray projectile attacks, and many other barrier-related abilities make the Guardian ideal for sustainability. This doesn’t mean a Guardian can’t deal heavy damage to enemies. Multiple Punisher skills make a Guardian character a force to be reckoned with. Arguably the best one is the Heavy Dual-wield active skill that lets you make a temporary copy of any heavy weapon to dual-wield with and deal double the damage.

Surge Class
The Mage
- Skill trees: Conductor, Energizer, and Time Bender
The Surge class in Coridden can control energy and time to affect the outcome of battles. Surge players can use energy to boost their stats or deal massive damage from a distance. This class lets you master and manipulate time to slow down enemies or speed up allies to ensure you have the upper hand in every fight. If things go wrong, you can always reverse time to determine the battle’s outcome. From dealing damage to buffing allies, the Surge class is the most flexible of them all.

If you want to support allies while also dealing high damage to enemies by manipulating powerful electric abilities, then the Surge class might be the right choice for you. This class isn’t limited to just dealing high electrical damage through the Conductor subclass, as it also lets you buff your allies by increasing their attack power or recovering their consumed energy. However, the most unique skills fall under the Time Bender subclass. These abilities let you manipulate the speed of not only your team but also your foes to shape the battlefield.

Hellion Class
The Glass Cannon
- Skill trees: Pyromancer, Devotee, and Berserker
The Hellion class in Coridden is one of the best if you want to deal high damage to enemies, but it has a drawback. A Hellion character’s defense is very weak and just a few attacks from enemies can cause them to perish in battle. Playing as a Hellion while a Guardian character is offering protection can be a viable strategy to ensure the battle ends quickly. Hellions can also sacrifice their own health to increase the output of damage dealt to enemies or use Devotee skills to heal themselves and their allies.
The Hellion classes’ gameplay is aggressive as its abilities deal significant damage, but it’s also a high-risk playing style. You can use ranged attacks like the Line of Fire active skill to cause a wall of fire to erupt in front of you and deal heat damage to enemies. If you aren’t in the mood to get your flame on, then the Devotee and Berserker subclasses are here to save the day. Channel your devotion to heal and buff allies or give in to your hate to deal massive raw damage to enemies.

Hunter Class
The Master Of Stealth
- Skill trees: Trickster, Ranger, and Conjurer
The Hunter class in Coridden has one of the most powerful abilities in the game, to become invisible. Hunters use a bow to deal high damage to enemies using powerful ranged attacks and are tricksters who can also use traps and poison to defeat enemies without needing to face them directly. The class is agile and sneak-based and would prefer to use means that keep the stakes low. Their abilities also complement these skills as they’re focused on ensuring the Hunter is faster than enemies or has other advantages like invisibility.
The Hunter class can be the best choice for you if you prefer to use ranged attacks to take down enemies one by one while changing your location to avoid being detected. If stealth is your concern, then the Trickster subclass has you covered. Lay down traps to blow up or capture unsuspecting enemies or use the bleeding effect to slowly take them down. Like any Hunter, this class lets you use your trusty bow in various ways to eliminate enemies from afar. You can also summon all sorts of creatures to increase your number and overpower any enemy in your path.
