Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a choice-based adventure game with a lot of different options to select from in every chapter. While some choices may have ramifications further down the line, or even in Tape Two, one of the main purposes of these branching dialogue options is to build relationships with your companions: Kat, Autumn, and Nora.

Welcome to memories of solitude and loneliness.

If you’re looking to build a relationship with one specific companion, this guide has a breakdown of every choice you can make in Chapter Nine: Garage Band. There are also some interesting narrative options you can gain by staying silent or triggering bonus dialogue.

Remember, when you complete a chapter, you can always replay it by going to the Scene Selection menu. If you’re not happy with your choices, consider replaying the scene immediately.

Enter The Garage

Swann and her friends in Nora's Garage in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.

When Swann first arrives at Nora’s garage, you’ll be prompted to knock on the door. From there, you’ll immediately get two dialogue options.

Dialogue

Response

(sigh) They can’t hear me…

Swann: They can’t hear me, and I’m talking to myself.

Hello?

Swann: Hello? It’s Swann.

Remember, you also always have the option to stay silent. In this chapter, staying silent doesn’t get you much, but if you don’t want specific events to trigger, that’s always a choice you can make.

From there, you’ll be prompted to knock again and gain entrance to the garage.

First Introductions

Swann talking to Kat in Nora's Garage in Lost Records.

Once inside the garage, you’ll get a chance to make a first impression with the other characters as they welcome you inside.

You’ll also get a third dialogue option if you stay silent for a little bit and listen to their conversation before speaking.

Dialogue

Response

This place is awesome!

Nora approves.

‘Sup, comrades?

Everyone is neutral.

What’s awkward?

Nora: Autumn didn’t think you’d show.

After you make your introductions, you’ll be prompted to begin shooting the Nora’s Lair memoir. Take some time gathering footage and moving around the garage.

As you do, Kat will begin talking about her sister’s boyfriend Corey. When she does, Swann has the chance to chime in if she wants.

Dialogue

Response

Have you talked to Corey, Kat?

Kat: You serious? I screamed it in his face when we brought Dylan home.

Corey sucks!

Kat approves.

Scoot by Kat to gain access to the rest of the garage and continue shooting the Nora’s Lair Memoir.

Band Names, Live Shows, And More

Swann talking to Autumn and Nora in Nora's garage in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.

After moving by Kat, Nora, and Autumn will begin discussing band names, which Swann can weigh in on. Nora’s pitch is ‘The Spew.’

Dialogue

Response

The Spew? Gross!

Nora disapproves.

The Spew? That’s funny!

Nora approves.

Depending on how long you linger, you may also get two different sets of dialogue options, after Autumn begins discussing an ex-drummer from the band.

Dialogue

Response

Was it someone from school?

Nora: Some band geek I think.

Did you guys…hook up?

Autumn disapproves.

Alternatively, the girls may start discussing going to a concert together.

Dialogue

Response

I’ve never been to a live show.

Nora: Let’s make it happen!

How about a road trip?

Everyone approves.

Optional Dialogue With Kat

Swann talking to Kat in Nora's Garage in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

After shooting the Nora’s Lair memoir, you can also trigger an optional conversation with Kat if you desire. Kat and you can bond over being self-described weirdos.

If you’re trying to build your relationship with Kat, this is an excellent place to start.

Kat will ask Swann about the freakiest thing she’s ever filmed, which will prompt an extended dialogue tree detailed below.

Some of these options only appear if you’ve actually filmed the thing Swann’s talking about, like the two squirrels mating, which can be done a few chapters prior.

Dialogue

Response

I’ve never filmed anything freaky…

Kat disapproves.

I filmed a used condom at a campsite.

Kat approves.

I filmed a roadkill scene once.

Kat disapproves.

I filmed two squirrels…mating.

Kat approves.

If you say you’ve never filmed anything freaky, you’ll get another chance to answer Kat’s question, or you can apologize and move on.

Dialogue

Response

I’m not boring!

You’ll get another chance to tell Kat what you filmed.

Sorry…

Kat disapproves.

Kat may also tell you the story of the time she saw a deer stand on its hind legs with an erection. If she does, Swann can continue the conversation.

Dialogue

Response

A boner!? Gross!

Kat disapproves.

(Laugh) He’s a flasher!

Kat approves.

Cool! You saw a Wendigo?!

Kat and Nora approve.

From there, talk to Nora to progress the level.

Get Ready To Jam With Autumn And Nora

Autumn and Nora playing guitars in Lost Records.

Next, you’ll be ready to rock out with Autumn and Nora. However, Nora is missing her favorite pick. Head over to the media tower to find it.

You can find a small easter egg by opening the Movie Palace tape in the media tower. You can learn more about Autumn’s ex Dean by opening it.

The picks are in the Vortex Club tape, which you can open to find three options.

Choice

Response

(Take Sun pick)

Nora is neutral.

(Take Tharpe pick)

Nora approves.

(Take Ghost pick)

Nora is neutral.

Additionally, if you open the Shadow Legions tape, you’ll find a stash of weed, which the characters may reference. If they do, you’ll trigger another dialogue option for Swann.

Dialogue

Response

Smells like skunk.

Nora: No way, it smells good.

Nora’s an outlaw!

Nora approves.

Before the jam session officially starts, Nora will finish a story about her trip to the mall with her dad. At the mall, he chastised her for wearing too much makeup. Swann can weigh in.

Dialogue

Response

Your make-up looks cool.

Nora approves.

Your Dad sounds mean…

Nora is neutral.

You don’t need makeup.

Nora disapproves.

Then, Nora will talk about how much she hates the mall in Velvet Cove. Nora actually likes malls, just not the ones in Velvet Cove. Swann can also chime in to build her relationship with Nora.

Dialogue

Response

I love the mall.

Nora approves.

What if we went together?

Nora approves.

I hate the mall.

Nora disapproves.

Lastly, Kat will ask Swann what her favorite band is. Here, you have the chance to try to lie to your companions or tell the truth about your lack of music taste.

To trigger the two lying options, you have to look around at the posters in the garage.

Dialogue

Response

Music? I’m more into movies.

Kat approves.

(Pretend to know ‘No Boys Allowed’)

Kat disapproves.

(Pretend to know ‘Sinful’)

Kat disapproves.

My dad plays Classic Rock in the car…

Kat disapproves.

Autumn And Swann In The Future

Swann talks to Autumn at a bar in Lost Records.

From here, you’ll trigger a quick cutaway to your future conversation with Autumn. Swann and she will discuss Swann’s movie taste, as opposed to her music taste.

This is the only choice that will have an actual effect down the line in this chapter, so choose wisely.

Dialogue

Response

I’m still into horror, too.

This choice will be remembered. It prompts the girls to discuss Rocky Horror and Interview with the Vampire in the next scene.

I still love sci-fi.

This choice will be remembered. It prompts the girls to discuss Total Recall in the next scene.

Time To Rock Out

Swann standing in Nora's garage watching them play.

Back in the garage, Nora and Autumn will be ready to jam. They’ll ask Swann to hop on the drums. On her way to the drum kit, Swann will knock over a stool, prompting Autumn to check in on her, asking if she’s okay.

Dialogue

Response

Sorry!

Autumn approves.

I’m cursed.

Autumn disapproves.

Autumn advises Swann to not fall on her wrists next time, sharing a bit of skateboarder wisdom. Swann can weigh in on this, giving her a chance to build her relationship with Autumn.

Dialogue

Response

If I had any balance, I’d try too!

Autumn approves.

What got you into it? Skaters your type?

Autumn disapproves.

I want to see you skateboard, Autumn!

Autumn approves.

Autumn will then ask Swann if she’s ready to help them play by using the drum kit.

Dialogue

Response

I’m ready!

Autumn is neutral.

Thanks, Autumn.

Autumn approves.

I have no idea what I’m doing!

Autumn approves.

Swann will then sit at the drum kit. There are no narrative consequences for which beat you create on the kit, so have fun with it!

From there, you can finish the chapter simply by following the prompts.
