Summary
- Watch Dogs: Legion is now available on Xbox Game Pass, offering unique character recruitment and permadeath mechanics.
- Xbox Game Pass also added Balatro, showcasing a growing library of diverse titles.
- Upcoming releases include 33 Immortals in March and games like Blue Prince and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 in April.
Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs: Legion has joined the ever-changing catalog of titles being offered on Xbox Game Pass. The third in a series that first launched in 2014, Watch Dogs: Legion takes players to a dystopian London of the future, where the hacking group DedSec has been framed for terrorism.
Along with its multiplayer component that allows up to four people to play cooperatively, Watch Dogs: Legion introduced a new playable character system. It allows players to recruit any NPC in the game world to build a unique team with diverse backgrounds and abilities. This came with the option of permadeath, meaning any recruit who dies during a playthrough is gone for good. Given that these characters are chosen specifically by the player, who is more likely to become attached as a result, this upped the stakes and excitement for those who wanted it.

Watch Dogs: Legion marks the last game known to be coming to Microsoft’s subscription service in February. However, that doesn’t mean there can’t be a few surprise additions. On February 24, Balatro was surprise dropped on Xbox Game Pass, a very welcome update. Originally released in early 2024, LocalThunk’s roguelike deckbuilding game was a hit right out of the gate. Sporting a poker-theme, Balatro took home numerous awards that year and in 2025, including Best Indie Game from Golden Joystick, Best Independent Game from The Game Awards, and Outstanding Achievement in Game Design at DICE 2025.
Xbox Game Pass members likely have a lot to look forward to in March as well, though not much has been revealed as of yet. 33 Immortals, an action roguelike by Thunder Lotus Games, will be launching in early access on the service on March 18, and the survival game Atomfall will be available day one on March 27. Three more day one games have also been confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass in April, bringing the known total for that month to six. These include Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Blue Prince, and South of Midnight by Compulsion Games, the developer of We Happy Few.
