The development studio behind Silent Hill 2‘s 2024 remake, Bloober Team, has joined hands with Konami once again to deliver another project based on the latter’s IP. Built from the ground-up, the Silent Hill 2 remake rolled out to an overwhelming reception in October 2024 and marked a successful collaboration between the Polish studio and the iconic Japanese gaming company.
Bloober Team is no stranger to the horror genre, with multiple such titles under its belt, ranging from Layers of Fear to The Medium. In 2021, the devs took on the mantle of recreating one of the most highly celebrated survival horror games in history, Silent Hill 2, for Konami and announced the remake project the following year. Upon its launch in 2024, Silent Hill 2 received plaudits from all over and breached the two million mark in sales by January 2025. Following such a strong showing, the Silent Hill IP owner has now gone ahead and roped in Bloober Team devs for another intriguing game.

The Silent Hill 2 Remake maintained one of the original’s gameplay options that would feel right at home in Resident Evil 9.
In a new announcement, the Bloober Team has revealed signing an agreement that enables it to work on a new game based on an IP owned and published by Konami. Reflecting on the back-to-back collaborations, the studio shared that the “trust” of the Metal Gear publisher stems from the remarkable performance of the highly rated Silent Hill 2 remake that came out last year. It further stated that the partnership deal falls in line with the Poland-based developer’s strategy to grow its internal development team inside a first-party framework. Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno said that he couldn’t shed light on the details of the forthcoming Konami-related project but expressed being excited about the same. He continued that “something truly special” would be shared with anticipating fans “when the time is right.”
Bloober Team to Work on Another Konami IP After Silent Hill
While there is no official information about which game Konami and Bloober Team could be working towards, there are a few informed guesses that could be made here. Firstly, assuming things are rather straightforward, it could be that the two parties are in talks for another Silent Hill project. On the flip side, assuming things are slightly different this time around, based on the Layers of Fear studio’s prolific work in the horror genre, it seems very likely that the game in question could be another horror title, even if it is related to Konami IP other than Silent Hill.
Given that the new deal with Konami has just been announced, it’s safe to say that there is quite some time remaining before Bloober Team makes any significant movement on that front. However, in the immediate future, the studio does have Cronos: The New Dawn, a survival horror game, coming out later in 2025. Besides that, the Silent Hill 2 remake developer has also been making progress on a different project, which may be another one of its collaborative efforts.
