Pokemon Fan Creates Impressive Charjabug Rug

Summary

  • A creative Pokemon fan recently crafted a Charjabug rug, sharing their handiwork with the community online.

  • Fans are eagerly awaiting Pokemon Day on February 27, with several big announcements expected.

A Pokemon fan recently took to social media to share their hand-made Charjabug rug, along with several screenshots and nearby objects for scale. Pokemon trainers complimented the rug maker on their handiwork, and some dubbed the homemade rug a “Charjarug” as a play on both words.

Known as the Battery Pokemon, Charjabug first appeared in Pokemon Sun and Moon. Charjabug evolves from Grubbin at level 20 and subsequently into Vikavolt when exposed to a Thunder Stone or leveled up in a strong magnetic field. Charjabug also has the dual types of Bug and Electric, one of the rarest type combinations in the Pokemon series. While Vikavolt is considered a stronger Pokemon, Charjabug can hold an Eviolite to bolster its defenses and physical attack stats by 50%. Coupled with attacks like X-Scissor, Spark, and Crunch, an Eviolite gives Charjabug chances to shine in some Tera Raid and Double Battle scenarios in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Has Bad News for Competitive Players

The Pokemon Company shares some unequivocally bad news for Pokemon TCG Pocket fans partial to playing the game competitively.

Although Charjabug remains a common sight in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it is not often used as an art subject. However, r/Pokemon user Jrkathan challenged that notion with their hand-made Charjabug rug. Pulling directly from official depictions of Charjabug, the rug was made with a mix of mostly green, black, and brown tufting yarn. Charjabug’s eyes were made with blue and white yarn, and gray yarn was used for its mouth. Darker shades of green and brown yarn were used to give a shadowed look to Charjabug’s pincers, legs, and lower body. The rug was made to fit in nearly any room, and Jrkathan took some pictures near a mirror and a bookshelf to provide scale. Jrkathan, also known as JayTufting on Instagram, said that he did not know about Charjabug’s existence until he crafted the rug for a commission.

Jrkathan stated that he conducts business on Instagram, and said that both practice and patience in trimming are important parts of creating hand-made rugs. In response, Pokemon trainers praised Jrkathan for his work on the Charjabug rug. A few users chose to dub the rug a “Charjarug” as a play on both the Pokemon’s name and what it was made into. Others jokingly asked if the Charjabug rug would cause static cling, and cited its Bug and Electric type combo as a potential reason.

Jrkathan’s rug was posted at a busy time for Pokemon fans. With Pokemon Day coming on February 27, and anticipation surrounding the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A, it remains to be seen if Charjabug will appear in future games.
