Pokemon Fan Carves Zigzagoon Sculpture Out of Wood

One talented Pokemon fan recently built a wooden replica of the raccoon-like Zigzagoon, attracting interest from other players in the community. Introduced in Generation 3, Zigzagoon has been featured in a variety of projects in the Pokemon franchise, ranging from games to manga.

Enrolled into the Pokedex as the 263rd entry, Zigzagoon made its first appearance in 2003’s Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire games. Since then, the Normal-type Pokemon, which evolves into Linoone, has received a well-known alternative form, the Galarian version. Moreover, it has also gained popularity among a certain section of fans, thanks to its adorable looks and its quirky zigzag movement. In recent years, the Tiny Raccoon creature has notably been a part of Pokemon GO, where it also received special Shiny and Shadow versions as part of some in-game events. In a new development, one Pokemon enthusiast shared their fondness for Zigzagoon by recreating it in wood form.

On Reddit, user sebebop posted a few pictures of their well-detailed Zigzagoon carved out of wood. From the zigzag shape of the fur to the white stripes on its body, the miniature wooden version of the Generation 3 Pokemon sports an appreciable level of accuracy. When it comes to details on the replica, the creative Pokemon fan has paid attention to certain traits, such as the black eyemask-shaped area on the Zigzagoon’s face as well as its white claws.

On the Pokemon subreddit, sebebop’s post drew in a number of positive responses that commended the former’s efforts with making the wooden statue. While one user expressed interest in collecting such wooden Pokemon replicas, another shared that they would like to make an “entire living dex” out of pieces of wood similar to the Zigzagoon figure. Intriguingly, this isn’t the only time a portrayal of Zigzagoon has captivated fans, as previously a different Reddit user attracted the attention of other players through their reimagining of the furry Pokemon as a human being.

Elsewhere, gamers can expect to head out on their next Pokemon adventure soon with a major release dropping later in 2025. The Switch-exclusive title Pokemon Legends: Z-A is scheduled to hit the shelves at some point this year, with rumors of it skipping Nintendo’s forthcoming Switch 2 platform. There are chances that updates related to this release could pop up at the forthcoming Pokemon Presents event on February 27.
