Summary
- The Thing and Human Torch are currently struggling in Marvel Rivals’ meta.
- The Thing has a win rate of 49.11%, while Human Torch is at 46.09%.
- Both characters have high pick rates, likely contributing to their low win rates.
At its current rate, Marvel has enough characters for Marvel Rivals to pull from that the game could still be going in 875 years, taking us to around the year 2,900. That doesn’t make each release any less exciting, however, with the latest characters, Human Torch and The Thing, dropping earlier this month to much fanfare.

However, while their introductions brought much excitement to the game, they’ve failed to make an impact on its current meta, with Human Torch in particular struggling.
Human Torch And The Thing Are Currently Struggling In Marvel Rivals
According to the Marvel Rivals tracking website, Rivals Meta, neither The Thing nor Human Torch are performing too well.
As it currently stands, The Thing is in the bottom half of the rankings with a win rate of 49.11 percent. This does put him marginally ahead of Invisible Woman, another character new for season one, but it’s still not a great place to be.
Things are even worse for Johnny Storm, though. The Human Torch is currently in the bottom five for heroes when it comes to win percentage in Marvel Rivals. His 46.09 percent puts him just ahead of Hawkeye, Moon Knight, and the always-bottom Jeff The Land Shark and Black Widow.
While the quality (or lack of) of these two heroes is likely to be playing a part in why they’re doing so badly, the fact that so many players are trying them out is likely to be the biggest issue. The Thing currently has the second-highest pick rate of all heroes (behind Invisible Woman), and the Human Torch has the fourth-highest. There are bound to be tons of players trying them out to see if they’re their next mains, but many of them are likely failing, causing these abysmal win rates.
With The Fantastic Four in the rearview mirror, all attention has turned to which characters will be next. If recent leaks are to be believed, Gambit and four of the X-Men could be next, or it could be Blade and Ultron. Whoever it is, though, here’s hoping they’re better than the most recent additions.
