One Piece’s Fish-Man Island Arc Remaster Is Superior To The Original
The remastered version of the iconic moment has a different filter and more pronounced outlines. Luffy’s Conqueror’s Haki burst is more noticeable because of the red and black lightning bolts. There is also slightly more focus on Luffy’s facial expressions in the new version.
Comparing both side by side, it is easy to see the difference between the two versions. While it is okay to have a preference, it is hard to deny that the remaster looks better than the original. The character expressions are better, and it also makes it much easier to understand when someone is using Haki.
The remastered version of the Fish-Man Island arc was labeled unnecessary by fans. They believed the effort put into the remaster could have been utilized elsewhere. However, it is quite apparent that the remastered version was a good idea, and it helped bolster the overall popularity of One Piece.
The original version of the Fish-Man Island arc had terrible pacing. Almost every episode felt unnecessarily long, and sitting through them was a chore. The remaster has helped with the problem. The original had more than 50 episodes, but the new version has just 21 episodes, which shows the drastic increase in the pacing. Since the episodes aren’t stretched, it makes it easier to sit through them.
More One Piece Remasters Are On The Way
The success of the Fish-Man Island arc will serve as a gateway for more remasters. There are plenty of One Piece arcs that are lengthy, and they cause fans to lose interest quickly. The rumors of One Piece becoming a season anime add more fuel to the speculation of more remasters coming in the near future.
As previously stated, many people have voiced concerns about the remaster and the One Piece remake, but both things will improve the series’ popularity. Modern anime fans are accustomed to adequately paced anime, which is exactly why Wit Studio is remaking the anime from the first arc. Wit Studio is one of the most reputed studios in the world, so the remake is in good hands.
