Deliverance 2 Players Think One Weapon Needs Improvement

Some Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 fans think the crossbow’s reload speed should be influenced by Henry’s strength, as reloading relies on pulling back the bowstring. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has been a massive success for Warhorse Studios. The medieval RPG made a profit on the first day of its release and sold two million copies just two weeks after its debut.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has a distinct focus on realism, often offering grounded gameplay and challenging survival elements. During his journey, Henry needs to contend with hunger, sleep, and cleanliness. Certain weapons, like guns, are clunky and unreliable in order to accurately portray the state of weaponry in Bohemia in 1403. Henry regularly faces the challenges of everyday life in addition to the trials and tribulations of his larger quest. For many, it’s part of the game’s charm, and some people would like to see even more of it.

Rather than merely relying on quests to tell stories, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s open-world organically does a lot of the storytelling for it.

In a recent post on Reddit, ZZTMF suggested that Henry’s strength should impact the reload speed of crossbows in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Reloading a crossbow involves pulling back on the weapon’s bowstring, which can be quite challenging depending on the draw weight. For this reason, ZZTMF and other players are asking Warhorse Studios to add a way to have their strength stat factor into the reload speed of the weapon. Doing so could change the flow of ranged combat, allowing Henry to get off more shots before an enemy closes the gap with a melee weapon.

A few people suggested that bows in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 should be afforded the same benefit, as the draw weight impacts how quickly one can pull back their bow to aim and shoot. One fan even mentioned that Henry comments on the drawing speed of a teacher within the game, but that taking their quest only gives XP instead of improving Henry’s skill with a bow. Another player said that they don’t want to be “Legolas” but would like to see some improvement for their efforts.

Many fans enjoy Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s bows, but feel they fill a somewhat niche role within the game. Outside of scripted moments, many encounters involve using a bow and then swapping it out for a melee weapon when an enemy closes in. This is different from other games where players may be able to exclusively play with a bow or crossbow. Then again, some have said that’s all part of the realism. While there’s no way of knowing how Warhorse Studios will respond to the request from fans, many are hopeful that the developers will consider their suggestion.
