Gotta have snacks. Lots of snacks.

While it’s easy to get lost in the peasant life of carrying sacks, mixing herbs, and smithing, there is one major thing missing in the world, which you may not have noticed. Like many open-world games, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 doesn’t have any children. While that’s not too surprising, given that devs don’t want players to slay younglings like Anakin Skywalker, fans have come up with the wildest theories about these lost boys and girls.

Won’t somebody please think of the children!

“I was wondering why there are always so many hired hands in this game when usually kids help out around the farm then it hit me. I have never seen a kid in this game,” said a post by art_weidos on the Kingdom Come subreddit. It’s true, the game doesn’t feature any children, and the community has come up with some wild theories about it.

The top-voted comment jokingly pointed out that since the game was set in the early 15th century, the concept of childhood wasn’t invented yet. Well, they’re half right – the concept of childhood was recognised in the 17th century. Of course, there were still children, but given the game’s Monty Python-esque humour, that reason makes sense in the game.

Another comment suggested that there are children, but Henry won’t come across them as they’ve been sent to work in the mines. Because, as we know, the children yearn for the mines. Some other comments blamed the midwifery skills of Bozhena – the old lady that helps you at the start – as she does tell you about one tragic incident. I guess it was more than just one.

We have our own theories as well. Considering that weddings seemingly don’t take place in KCD2 until Henry arrives, the birth rate in Bohemia may have plummeted. Sir Hans Capon isn’t really helping things, considering all he wants to do is f*** himself.
