Black Panther Star Slated For Avengers: Doomsday

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be one of the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe movies to date. Bringing Robert Downey Jr back to the MCU in the role of Doctor Doom alongside a plethora of expected cameos to tap into the multiverse aspect of the story means that there is no shortage of expectations heading into this one. Even though Avengers: Doomsday has had a rocky road in the build-up, with the film being totally changed after Marvel pivoted away from Kang, the story is still expected to be an important one in the grand scheme of the MCU.

Many different big stars are expected to appear, from Benedict Cumberbatch to Tom Holland. The film is going to be a who’s who of Marvel stars. A new report has slated that a top character from the Black Panther franchise is also set to be involved in the movie, adding yet another top MCU star to the growing cast.

Avengers: Doomsday filming is set to be delayed, due to a troubling situation.

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel fans will see Shuri again in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. While no further information is known about how significant her role in those movies will be or if she’ll have a significant role, she is at least going to be involved.

It makes sense that Marvel Studios would want Shuri to be part of these films, given that she essentially took on the role of Black Panther in the previous movie. She has her own Vibranium suit and is more than capable of handling herself in a fight, so adding her to these movies is perfectly acceptable. The population of Wakanda has played important roles within the wider MCU ever since Black Panther was introduced. Therefore, it makes sense that it would continue heading into these films.

It’s unclear whether those movies will head to Wakanda or if Shuri will leave the area to help them, but her involvement is a positive sign for the films. It’s also another showcase of Marvel Studios backing her in the lead role for the Black Panther franchise. There has been widespread debate over whether or not Marvel Studios is going to recast the role of T’Challa in the near future and who might take on that role if they do. However, in the character of Shuri, Marvel already has someone who can carry the franchise as she’s a brilliant hero who offers something different to the rest of the MCU.

Having her appear alongside some of the biggest characters within the MCU will only help establish Shuri further in the eyes of the moviegoers. She’s a confident character who can hold her own and often brings a lot of charm and energy to her scenes. That’s something that could be a lot of fun to see within an Avengers movie and would allow her to rub shoulders with some fresh characters. On top of that, Shuri is one of the smartest characters in the franchise, and it could be that side of her character that is being tapped into for Avengers: Doomsday.
