The Emerald Stair region of Avowed is filled with interesting characters that will be both friendly and hostile towards Envoy. While roaming the Maxim’s Claim area, you’ll spot a big sinkhole in the ground, and a prompt will pop up indicating that you need to find the Distressed Animancer. This will start the Sinkhole Stroll quest, which requires players to help the Old Felipe, who’s fallen into the sinkhole alongside his workshop.

Daiko is a merchant in Thirdborn who gives players the job of picking up a package from his brother, starting the Wasteland Courier Quest in Avowed.

Reach Old Felipe in Sinkhole Stroll Quest in Avowed

Players will encounter the Sinkhole Stroll quest while exploring the Maxim’s Claim area of the Emerald Stair region in Avowed. While passing through a large sinkhole in Felipe’s Depression, they’ll hear someone calling for help. A prompt will pop up that will indicate that players have started the Sinkhole Stroll quest, and they must save the Animancer trapped down below.

So, you’ll need to start dropping into the sinkhole carefully until you reach a platform connecting to a room with a purple hue. Drop inside the room and you’ll need to face several Sporelings. After defeating the enemies, exit the room and use the large roots to carefully descend into the sinkhole.

At the bottom, you’ll face another group of enemies around the NPC. Eliminate the enemies and talk to the trapped Animancer, who’ll reveal himself to be Old Felipe. He’ll be thankful to the Envoy and their party for coming to his rescue. However, he’ll have another job for the party.

Retrieve Old Felipe’s Research Notes in the Sinkhole

Old Felipe will mention how all his research data was also lost when his entire workshop collapsed inside this pit. Since his research contains valuable data regarding the wildlife in Fior, the Envoy must retrieve it.

So, turn around, and you’ll see a pathway via the roots going into a room with a purple hue. Head inside the room and retrieve the Old Felipe’s Research

item near the staircase. Return to Old Felipe with his research and hand over the notes to him. Once the conversation is over, Old Felipe will reward you with some money, making the Sinkhole Stroll quest in Avowed complete.
