Tokoyami Fumikage is Class A’s token edgy teenager, though serious and reserved. Tokoyami has a deep appreciation and association with all dark themes, likely due to his Quirk Dark Shadow needing darkness to be used more efficiently. Tokoyami has always sought to become a hero despite being kin to darkness. However, due to his sensitivity to the light, Tokoyami had an obvious weakness he needed to overcome.
Tokoyami is easily one of the most powerful students in Class A, thanks to his Quirk Dark Shadow, which he uses for offense and defense. However, it was during his internship with the Hawks that Tokoyami realized his true potential. Tokoyami’s appearance is that of a bird with a yellow beak and black head, although the resemblance Hawks refers to Tokoyami as that of a “flightless bird.”
With Hawks’s guidance, Tokoyami was able to take his abilities one step further and now with flight. During his internship with Hawks, Tokoyami had significantly improved his physical skills, as now he had a mentor who could give him the proper guidance for his abilities. A few months after the Final War, Tokoyami and Class A could be seen helping renovate the city, removing rubble, and assisting in the massive cleanup due to the battle. In Chapter 430, in a montage of various events regarding the student’s lives, Tokoyami is also shown to be meeting up with Hawks at a cafe, likely reprimanding the former Pro Hero as he points accusatory at him; this indicts their close bond, even after Hawks become the new President of the Hero Public Safety Commission.

Eight years after Tokoyami became a Pro Hero, he and the Class A alumni, with Bakugo Katsuki at the heart of it, funded a new mechanical Armored Suit for Midoriya Izuku. Many of Midoriya’s classmates have the utmost respect for the former One For All user, as he spearheaded the operation against Shigaraki Tomura and All For One, at one point losing both of his arms during the battle, but saved by Eri’s Quirk.
Following Midoriya’s acquisition of his new suit, Tokoyami, accompanied by the Class A alumni, is observed springing into action in response to a landslide. Eight years later, not much has changed regarding Tokoyami aside from his enhanced physical abilities. He continues to exhibit the same edgy personality as in the past, maintaining his preference for dark clothing; however, he now embellishes his attire with bracelets and rings as accessories.
