There are many new products being released alongside Disney Lorcana‘s upcoming set, Archazia’s Island, including a Lilo and Stitch-themed gift box with a special promo and various set 7 dedicated boxes, like the evergreen Illumineer’s Trove. With Archazia’s Island adding a new mechanic as Vanish, a new card tag with Illusion, and the first-ever dual-Ink cards, there is a lot going on for set 7 in Lorcana. Some of the best cards in Archazia’s Island are likely yet to be “discovered,” in the sense that players will need to test new decks with them, but others are already sparking debates about the meta. Yet, Archazia’s Island is the best set to get into the game outside of collecting.
Ravensburger sent Game Rant the new Archazia’s Island starter decks for Lorcana, which not only come with their own list of new and reprinted cards from the game’s various expansions, but also highlight the freshly added gimmicks and dual-Ink cards. In particular, the starter decks for set 7 offer a great base to expand on because of their color combinations, which were some of the best in the game in Azurite Sea, and will likely still be great going into Archazia’s Island.

Why Lorcana Fans Shouldn’t Sleep on Starter Decks in Archazia’s Island
The new starter decks feature Ruby/Sapphire and Amethyst/Steel as their respective colors, making for a great starting point for the competitive side of Lorcana. Ruby/Sapphire was the single most popular deck in Lorcana‘s Azure Sea set, consistently getting great tournament results. Amethyst/Steel was also very good, especially in its aggro or midrange variants with help from cards like Azurite Sea’s Genie and Gantu. The starter decks coming with Archazia’s Island are not necessarily competitive right out of the gate, but they do come with some good cards that may eventually make the cut in a powerful deck.
Lorcana’s Sey 7 Ruby/Sapphire Deck Explained
For example, the Ruby/Sapphire deck comes with Donald Duck – Focused Flatfoot, which has seen competitive play due to its decent statline for its 5-Ink cost, all while also ramping up one’s Inkwell in Lorcana. The new Beagle Boys – Small-Time Crooks dual-Ink card is also great because it is a 4-drop card, which was often lacking in Ruby/Sapphire decks, and it can synergize very well with some already strong cards like Maui – Half-Shark.
Likewise, the deck also features the new Maurice – Unconventional Inventor and Maurice’s Machine, which combo with one another. More importantly, this is a great introduction to Ruby/Sapphire’s focus on Item cards, which set 7 Legendary cards in Lorcana emphasize through the new Tamatoa and Scrooge McDuck. This collection of cards, combined with Belle – Mechanic Extraordinaire and Beast – Frustrated Designer, creates a synergistic deck that covers all the basics and some for fans of this color combination and Lorcana in general.
Lorcana’s Set 7 Amethyst/Steel Deck Explained
On the other hand, there is the Amethyst/Steel deck featuring Jafar – Newly Crowned and Iago – Giant Spectral Parrot. This deck is fantastic for storytelling in Lorcana, as Archazia’s Island continues the game’s overarching plot and sets up the next Lorcana set in 2025 called Reign of Jafar. On top of that, this Amethyst/Steel deck focuses on the new archetype of Illusions and Vanish, which seems great to get into the game.
This is because the new keyword Vanish says that if a character with it is targeted by an Action, it should then be banished. While this may seem a detrimental effect, cards like the titular Iago or Giant Cobra – Ghostly Serpent have great stats for their cost, making them very powerful in terms of controlling the board. Then, the deck also features Magical Maneuvers, which is a good way of introducing Amethyst’s focus on bouncing cards back into the owner’s hand. This has a nice synergy with Vanish cards, as the keyword doesn’t affect one’s own Actions, but only the opponent’s. Overall, these two decks are an amazing introduction to deckbuilding in Lorcana, and they also come with one Archazia’s Island booster pack to start collecting more cards, making them the perfect buy for their cost.
