They’re also excited about the cast member’s next projects, including Sadie Sink’s epic musical film O’Dessa. Viewers are also curious about what the Duffer Brothers are going to work on next since they have done such an impressive job bringing the story of Hawkins, Indiana and the Upside Down to life.
Before creating Stranger Things, Matt and Ross Duffer wrote and directed the 2015 horror movie Hidden and wrote four episodes of Wayward Pines, the unnerving mystery adapted from the book series by Blake Crouch. But in order to be truly impressive, this show needs to avoid a few criticisms that fans have of Stranger Things.

Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen Shouldn’t Follow These Stranger Things Mistakes
The Duffer Brothers are producing a horror TV series called Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, which is set during a wedding. Adam DiMarco and Camila Morrone star as the groom and bride. According to Netflix.tudum.com, the series follows the couple the week before their wedding. As the title suggests, there are terrible events ahead.
Fans have criticized the lengthy episodes in Stranger Things season 4 because while the season 4 finale is epic and exciting, people don’t want to sit through episodes that are 60 minutes long. If the episodes had been 40 or 45 minutes each, then any lackluster moments and filler content could have been avoided. For example, fans didn’t love seeing so much of Jim Hopper (David Harbour) imprisoned. While it was scary to wonder if Hopper could die, those scenes got repetitive quickly, and a little bit would have gone a long way. The long episodes also meant that the main characters were split up, which fans don’t want to see happen again in Stranger Things season 5.
Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen should avoid these issues by having shorter episodes and ensuring the couple spends enough time together. The series should also shine a spotlight on each character and not ignore certain ones. While it can be tough to focus on everyone when there’s a huge cast, it can be frustrating to feel like some characters are being neglected. Before Stranger Things season 4, Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) wasn’t given his own storyline, and many feel that Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton) hasn’t gotten enough screen time. Hopefully, Lucas will have an even bigger plotline in Stranger Things season 5, and hopefully, the Duffer Brothers’s new show will give everyone enough screen time.
The Duffer Brothers’ horror TV series should also avoid a big Stranger Things mistake that fans are still talking about: having an episode where the main character goes off on a disappointing and unsatisfying adventure. Viewers don’t think that season 2, episode 7, “The Lost Sister,” fits with the tone of the rest of the series. In this episode, Eleven visits Kali Prasad/008 (Linnea Berthelsen), who lives with other kids who are misfits. Although Stranger Things season 5 could fix this storyline by bringing Kali back in a better way, it would still be better to keep the main couple in Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen together. While it’s possible they will suspect each other since that’s a common horror genre trope, they should still have a solid and compelling relationship.
What Other TV Shows Are the Duffer Brothers Working On After Stranger Things?
The Duffer Brothers are also working on a sci-fi TV series called The Boroughs set in a retirement community in New Mexico. According to Netflix.tudum.com, the cast includes Jena Malone, Ed Begley Jr., Dee Wallace, Carlos Miranda, Geena Davis, Alfred Molina, Denis O’Hare, and Jane Kaczmarek. Will Matthews and Jeffrey Addiss are the showrunners and creators and the Duffer Brothers are the executive producers.
Fans love the courageous and smart Stranger Things characters and how well they get along. It sounds like viewers will also appreciate the strong character development in The Boroughs, and it definitely has an interesting premise. According to Netflix.tudum.com, the Duffer Brothers said of the new show they are executive producing:
“While the heroes in The Boroughs have a few more years on them than the kids from Stranger Things, they are a similarly lovable bunch of misfits, and we can’t wait for you to join them on an adventure that is at turns scary, funny, and deeply touching.”
