Solo Leveling Has Raised The Bar

Sakamoto Days is an example of a series that is constantly compared to Solo Leveling. The former is by no means a horrible adaptation, but it has the misfortune of airing at the same time as Solo Leveling. TMS Entertainment has done a fine job of animating the source material, which is evident from Sakamoto Days’ popularity. The anime has been consistently in the top 10 most watched shows on Netflix, and it wouldn’t have happened if the quality was bad. But A-1 Pictures has produced such an imperious adaptation that Sakamoto Days’ anime pales in comparison.

Coming back to Solo Leveling, the anime has been on a roll recently. The last few episodes have been stellar, and they have high ratings on IMDb. Since the second season is going to cover some part of the Jeju Island arc, it is safe to assume the remainder of the episodes will be even better. The English dub of the anime also airs weekly on Crunchyroll, but there is a gap between the two versions.
