Solo Leveling has broken another record on Crunchyroll. Solo Leveling Season 2 was one of the most hyped anime for Winter 2025, and it seems to be living up to expectations, with fans being amazed by each new episode. It is rare for an anime to consistently maintain such a high level of quality as this.

The anime is now entering one of the most beloved arcs, the Jeju Island Arc – many fans consider it the best one of the story. And the production team seems to be well aware of that, as Episode 8 impressed most fans with its stunning animation.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 8 Quickly Reached a Milestone

Since its debut, Solo Leveling Season 2 episodes have quickly reached 100,000 likes on Crunchyroll. Previously, Episode 6 was the one that did it faster than any other series, in just 7 hours. However, now Episode 8 has surpassed it: in six and a half hours, the episode already had over 100,000 likes.

According to reports, it even crashed the servers of Crunchyroll and a few anime piracy websites:

Given that this episode introduced the Jeju Island Arc, which, as mentioned, is quite popular and highly anticipated, it’s no wonder that it reached this milestone so quickly, especially considering the massive quality of the episode. At this rate, it’s possible that other episodes will break this record in the coming weeks – the season’s finale may even break Crunchyroll’s servers for a while. But, who knows, Episode 9 could already break this record as early as next week.

Most-Watched Anime on Crunchyroll in 2024

Solo Leveling debuted in 2024 and while it was one of the most anticipated anime for that year, it has become even more successful than many expected. Recently, Crunchyroll confirmed, at least to the Japanese media, that the series was the most watched show on the service last year.

This doesn’t come as a surprise to many, as Parrot Analytics, a company focused on gathering and analyzing streaming viewership data, had already indicated that it was one of the most-demanded anime series in 2024.

All of this success also seems to be converting into manhwa sales, at least in the US, as reports suggest that sales of the graphic novel grew faster than any other in the country in 2024. Numbers from 2025 haven’t been revealed yet, but it is likely that the series will continue to sell quickly – usually, when a popular anime is airing, there is a spike in sales for related media, such as the manga (in this case, manhwa) or the novel.

Solo Leveling is streaming on Crunchyroll, subbed in many languages (simulcast). It is also available dubbed in select languages (episodes are added a few weeks later), including English.
