There is too much to consider before sticking to any decision during the Shadows of the Past quest in Avowed.

The Following Article Contains Spoilers Regarding Some Endgame Choices And Consequences.

Should You Free Sapadal In Avowed?

Early Consequences

Choosing to free Sapadal is, in short, the best decision players can make if they wish to obtain a good ending. The god has suffered a lot in silence and loneliness, so freeing them is the best course of action you can take. The Envoy will receive the Sapadal’s Fury Godlike ability in Avowed, which allows them to sprout hands similar to Sapadal to lift enemies in the air and then slam them down, dealing high damage. It does require 100 Essence, so be careful when using it.

Endgame Consequences

After completing the Siege of Paradis quest in Avowed, you will witness the result of this choice in the epilogue. Sapadal, now free, observes the Living Lands through your eyes with understanding and curiosity. They come to you to question what they do not understand and try to take care of their land to better the lives of its citizens. When asked about the cause of the plague, you simply answer that the cause is now at peace.

Should You Kill Sapadal In Avowed?

Early Consequences

It’s not advised to kill Sapadal, as their death is a key point in most bad endings. After blaming the God of the Living Lands for the Dreamscourge and accusing them of taking the lives of many creatures, you decide to destroy Sapadal.

As a reward for killing the god, you are rewarded with Woedica’s Call, a Godlike ability that allows players to summon a Maegfolc that helps you defeat enemies. Similar to the previous ability, it also requires 100 Essence, so make sure to stock up on Essence Potions if you are planning to use it.

Endgame Consequences

Following the events of the Siege of Paradis quest, players will discover the consequences of their choices during the epilogue. Players’ thoughts are now free of Sapadal, and they contemplate the god’s existence occasionally. If anyone asks about the source of Dreamscourge, players explain how the source of the plague was once a lonely god that is now destroyed.
