Pokemon GO Reveals Adventure Effects for Black Kyurem and White Kyurem

Pokemon GO has revealed new Adventure Effects for Black Kyurem and White Kyurem. For the first time, the appearance of the Unova Legendary variants took place during the in-person portion of the Pokemon GO Tour, the annual Pokemon GO event that takes place in anticipation of Pokemon Day.

This year’s Pokemon GO Tour celebrates Unova, the region where Pokemon Black and White are set. Niantic brought the trainers together for in-person activities in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles from February 21 to 23. Among them, they had the chance, for the first time in the history of the augmented reality game, to catch shiny Meloetta through a new Masterwork Research. With the in-person events over, the GO Tour moves on to its next part.

Niantic has revealed that when Black Kyurem and White Kyurem debut at Pokemon GO Tour: Unova – Global, players will be able to use their new Adventure Effects. After fusing Zekrom with a Kyurem that knows Charged Attack Glaciate, trainers will get a Black Kyurem that knows Charged Attack Freeze Shock. Using 5,000 Stardust and 5 Kyurem Candy, players can activate its Adventure Effect, and Black Kyurem will release electrically charged ice lasting 10 minutes. As a result, the Pokemon encountered will be paralyzed, making it easier to capture them. When they undo the fusion, Freeze Shock will revert to Glaciate.

Black Kyurem and White Kyurem Have Very Useful Adventure Effects in Pokemon GO

Players who fuse Zekrom with a Kyurem that knows Charged Attack Glaciate will get a White Kyurem that knows Charged Attack Ice Burn. Its Adventure Effect also costs 5,000 Stardust and 5 Kyurem Candy to be activated, and will see White Kyurem releasing chilling energy for 10 minutes. During this period, the target ring in Pokemon encounters will move more slowly, making it easier for Pokemon GO players to land excellent throws and obtain new pocket monsters. Like Black Kyurem, undoing the fusion between Zekrom and Kyurem will revert Ice Burn to Glaciate.

The global portion of the Pokemon GO Tour: Unova will take place between March 1 and 2 2025, and players will have a lot of help capturing new Pokemon with the Adventure Effects of Black Kyurem and White Kyurem. They’ll also be able to extend the duration of both effects with the Pokemon GO Tour: Unova Tour Pass. To do this, they must hit the pass’s major milestones, increasing the effects’ duration by 1.5x (Tier 2), 2x (Tier 3), and 3x (Tier 4). Players will also be able to unlock rewards, increase their rank, and improve the event’s bonuses.
