Summary
- A PlayStation fan recently showed off a staggering three-game haul for just $6.
- The haul consisted of a PS5 copy of Deathloop, and PS4 copies of GTA 5 and Uncharted 4.
A PlayStation fan recently stumbled upon an incredible deal which netted them three critically-acclaimed PS4 and PS5 games for the lowly price of $6. Hauls like these are often a shining endorsement of physical games, and serve as a compelling case for why future PlayStation consoles should continue to support disc-based media.
The PlayStation fanbase has always had numerous ardent physical media supporters. Even though physical game sales have been declining for several years, many of these PlayStation fans remain steadfast in their championing of disc-based games. It isn’t difficult to see why, as physical games are satisfying to collect, can be borrowed and resold, don’t require an internet connection (in most cases) to install to a console’s storage, and more. However, a massive advantage of physical games is their natural tendency to drop in price over time, and this has helped one very fortunate PlayStation fan snag an exceptional deal.

Reddit user Kaden_leon recently posted an image in the PlayStation subreddit to show off a game haul they took home for $6 from a garage sale. While one may assume that a diminutive amount like this wouldn’t really fetch anything impressive, it surprisingly got the Redditor a PS5 copy of the 2021 time-looping shooter Deathloop, as well as PS4 copies of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Grand Theft Auto 5. The haul left many PlayStation fans gobsmacked, as the individual values of those games are several times greater than the $6 Kaden_leon paid for all of them. At the time of writing, Amazon has Deathloop PS5 discs listed for $23, GTA 5 PS4 discs for $20, and Uncharted 4 PS4 copies for a whopping $50.
Redditor Snags Two Critically-Lauded PS4 Games and a Popular PS5 Shooter for $6 Total
Had Kaden_leon bought those games from Amazon, they would’ve ended up lavishing $93, which is over 15 times the amount they actually paid for those titles. Granted, if the Redditor wants to experience the best versions of Uncharted 4 and GTA 5 on PS5, they’d have to spend $10 each to upgrade both PS4 titles digitally. Still, that’d bring the overall cost to $26, which is still a fraction of their current market price. Economics aside, there’s also the critical acclaim behind these games that far transcends the inconsequential price Kaden_leon paid for them. GTA 5 is widely regarded among the best games ever made, Uncharted 4 is an excellent globe-trotting adventure title, and Deathloop was nominated for Game of the Year in 2021.
Should the Redditor be planning on playing all three games, they’re most likely in for a great time. However, it’d probably be more prudent to play through the first three Uncharted games before diving into Uncharted 4 to maximize its emotional impact. Regardless, this is just one of many examples that prove how accessible physical games can be, and why the PS6 and beyond must retain disc drives. Maybe 10 years from now, someone could post a $6 haul comprised of games like GTA 6, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and Blade.
