Summary
- Marvel Rivals adds yet another reference to the meme about Dracula owing Moon Knight money.
- Now, if you play as Moon Knight on the new map, you can get three lines of dialogue about the feud between the two.
- The comic panel that inspired the meme might have been fake, but it’s certainly canon now.
When you imagine Moon Knight, there’s a very good chance you’ll think of that one comic panel of him complaining about Dracula. Alas, it is not real, but the meme has circulated so much that to many of us, Dracula is indeed a nerd who owes Moon Knight money.
Now, it actually is canon, at least in one universe. In the new Marvel Rivals map, Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park, Moon Knight has a chance to say new voice lines, canonising his beef with Dracula. The line is changed slightly from the meme, so you won’t get to hear him drop an F-bomb, but it’s a great reference, nonetheless.
It’s Canon: Dracula Really Does Owe Moon Knight Money
The new Marvel Rivals map references the popular Moon Knight meme
Before a round begins, Moon Knight has a chance to say, “Dracula’s here? Good. That blood-sucking nerd owes me big”.
Oh, but the animosity doesn’t end there. As you can see in the clip, Moon Knight keeps bringing it up during the match, also saying, “I know you’re here, Dracula”. Then, when he’s with the payload, he exclaims, “Time for Dracula to pay up!”.
This is not the first time that Marvel Rivals has referenced this meme. As we covered back in December, a codex entry already had Moon Knight bring up the fact that Dracula is holding out on him. However, this is the first time we’re hearing him say it out loud, so this is now very much part of the lore.
