Henry will only run into Black Bartsosch after he saves Han from being hanged in the For Whom The Bell Tolls quest. Once that quest is complete, both men will get some freedom to explore the castle.

Black Bartosch is a strong fighter, and players will find him near the combat area outside the soldier barracks in the northwest section of Trosky. Henry can introduce himself, but he won’t be able to romance Bartosch until the For Victory main quest.

For Victory starts directly after the Necessary Evil quest. Henry will be tasked with speaking to Hans so they can attend Otto von Bergow’s feast the night before riding into Nebakov and attacking.

Players must talk to Black Bartosch before going to Hans for the feast in order to open his romance line. Henry should introduce himself and ask questions about Bartosch to increase his reputation with him. Players can also get some combat training in with him for a price.

Henry should ensure that he is bathed and wearing his outfit with the best Charisma before the feast to make the best impression and help him with skill checks during dialogue. There is a bathhouse at Trosky that Henry can pay for to get him and his clothes washed, and once Henry is ready for the feast, he should find Hans in the evening so they can go together.

If players head to a specific location, they can find Sir Hans Capon hunting before attending the wedding.

Henry will get several chances to meet others and unlock additional side quests at the feast. Some quests include special tasks for Hans that involve preparing for tomorrow, so complete those before trying to romance Black Bartosch.

Attend The Feast And Talk To Black Bartosch

Black Bartosch is leaning against a wall behind the main table towards the left side of the room at the feast. He will greet Henry whenever he gets close to him. Then, players can ask him for more information on Otto von Bergow and for some of his thoughts on the guests at the feast.

To trigger the romance opportunity, players should select the “What about the local girls?” option.

Bartosch will insinuate that he would be more interested in drinking with Henry than he would be with any women around. After that, Henry will get the opportunity to pass a skill check and invite Bartosch to spend the night with him. It will be an Impression check, so having a high Charisma makes it more likely to succeed. Players can also use Perfume to boost Henry’s Charisma.

If Henry succeeds the check the pair will flirt and plan to get together late in the evening.

If Henry wants to do anything else before going to sleep, he can end the dialogue at this point and return to Bartosch later.

Spend The Night With Black Bartosch

Whenever Henry is ready to go to bed, return to the feast, find Bartosch, and talk to him again. Select the dialogue with the heart symbol next to it: “Shall we spend the rest of the evening alone?” This will trigger a fast travel moment where Henry and Bartosch share a sensual night and then sleep for the upcoming battle.
