Here’s how to counter Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals!

Bunny Hopping is a technique in which a character uses the forward momentum gained by jumping right as their feet hit the ground. It’s an extremely useful tool for both engaging, disengaging or just a quicker way to get back to an objective. This guide will show which characters are capable of performing the technique and, more importantly, how to perform the technique yourself.

How To Perform A Bunny Hop

To perform a Bunny Hop you simply have to time your jumps to the exact moment your character’s feet touch the ground. Each of the few characters capable of performing the technique has their own unique methods of initiating it.

Bunny Hopping As Spider-Man

Before attempting the Bunny Hop as Spider-Man, it’s important to disable Automatic Swing and enable Hold To Swing in the Hero Settings. This will allow your webs to fire directly where you are aiming and allow you to perform the technique. Once the settings have been adjusted, you’ll need to perform the following steps:

  • Jump or double jump into the air whilst aiming at the ground in front of you.
  • Fire your Web-Swing ability and pull yourself towards the ground.
  • Immediately follow up with a Web-Cluster to cancel the Web-Swing while keeping your momentum.
  • Once you hit the ground, quickly tap jump.
  • Time your subsequent jumps to keep your momentum going.

Jumping too early will cause you to double jump and halt your movement, whilst jumping too late will gradually slow you down.

Bunny Hopping As Wolverine

Wolverine isn’t as mobile as Spider-Man, but his abilities do give him some form of movement to get back into the fight. The only caveat being he can only jump twice before losing his momentum. Regardless, it is extremely useful to return to an objective after death.

  • Aim your crosshair high above Wolverine’s head.
  • Activate Feral Leap to pounce into the air.
  • Mid-flight, activate Undying Animal to cancel the Feral Leap animation.
  • Wait a few moments until your feet hit the ground and tap jump.
  • Time your next jumps to gain the maximum distance.

Avoid using this to engage the enemy as it will leave you vulnerable. Instead, use it as an escape tool to get back to your team.

Bunny Hopping As Iron Fist

The character select screen for Iron Fist in Marvel Rivals.

Whilst both Spider-Man and Wolverine both require the use of their abilities to initiate the Bunny Hop, Iron Fist works differently. Iron Fist’s Bunny Hop isn’t as fast as the previous heroes, but his Bunny Hop can be performed indefinitely.

  • Tap jump.
  • Right as you are about to hit the ground, tap your primary attack to initiate an aerial kick.
  • During the animation, Iron Fist will float on the ground.
  • Midway through the animation, tap jump once more.
  • Repeat the previous two steps to keep Bunny Hopping.

Iron Fist’s Bunny Hop is extremely frame perfect and will take some time to master. It’s advised you quickly hop into the Training Mode and practice the timing.

Bunny Hopping As Hulk

The character select screen for Bruce Banner in Marvel Rivals.

Hulk is the only Vanguard currently able to perform the Bunny Hop. Unfortunately, unlike his Duelist counterparts, he is unable to perform it in his base form. Instead, it can only be performed in his Monster Hulk ultimate form.

  • Build up Hulk’s ultimate ability and activate it.
  • Once activated, fully charge your Incredible Leap and jump forward.
  • Just as you are about to make contact with the ground, tap jump.
  • Time your next jumps to keep your momentum going.

Like Iron Fist’s Bunny Hop, Hulk’s also requires near-frame-perfect timing. Be sure to practice in the Training Mode to perfect the timing.
