Fortnite has added quite a few new items to Chapter 6 Season 2, and leaks suggest handcuffs almost made the cut as well.
Fortnite’s latest season has new weapons, new Mythics, new currencies, and new melee weapons. There are also new vehicles to fit the theme, too. Epic Games added plenty of content to the season to make it new, entertaining, and interesting. There was undoubtedly a lot that they considered or even had planned that didn’t make it to the final cut. Now, we have evidence of one such item.

Fortnite Handcuffs Got Scrapped for Chapter 6 Season 2
According to leaks, handcuffs were almost part of the new season. These Fortnite weapons and items fit squarely within the theme of the current season, Chapter 6 Season 2. Lawless is the name of the season, and it’s heist-themed. It only makes sense to include an item that is used when people are caught being lawless or completing a heist.
Unfortunately, the item didn’t make it into the final version of the season. It’s unclear if they’re either scrapped or unreleased. If they’re scrapped, they’re not coming at all. If it’s just unreleased, they may still have a chance to make it into the game. However, since they weren’t there on day one and weren’t shown off in the trailer, it’s hard to envision the handcuffs making it.
There were six different types of handcuffs in the leak, so they presumably had different abilities. Unfortunately, the leak doesn’t specify what they would have done. Epic Games may not have even gotten that far in developing them before scrapping the idea altogether.
Logically, these handcuffs would be used on opponents, but it’s not really clear how that would work. If you catch an enemy, you usually eliminate them, not arrest them. There may not be an advantage to handcuffing yourself in a Fortnite match. This may ultimately be why they didn’t make it into Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2.
