- Active skills like Shadowing Beyond are vital for a Stealth Archer, allowing invisibility until the next attack.

Players will be happy to know that this playstyle is still viable in Avowed, with plenty of skills in not only the Ranger skill page that make this build possible. Here are the skills that work best for players hoping to hunt their enemies from the shadows as the deadly Stealth Archer.

Armored Grace
Decreases The Stamina Penalty Of Armor
Players may be surprised to see that not all the skills needed to make the perfect Stealth Archer build in Avowed are to be found on the Ranger skill page. They will be in great need of this low-level Fighter passive skill due to how valuable stamina is to the Stealth Archer.
When players have knocked an arrow, they will watch their stamina bar quickly deplete. With the Armored Grace passive purchased, the total stamina available to a player will be more, as this skill removes a fraction of the penalty given to the player when wearing heavy or medium armor.

Critical Strike
Critical Strike Chance Is Increased
Unsurprisingly, many of the skills required for a player to make the best Stealth Archer build can be found within the Ranger skills. One great option that is unlocked when achieving higher levels in Avowed is the Critical Strike passive.
With this skill purchased, the player will have a higher chance of achieving a critical hit when attacking an enemy. Players should achieve critical hits as a Stealth Archer anyway due to them aiming for the critical spots with their bow, but this also means that, if a player shoots elsewhere, they still have a chance of doing a higher amount of damage.

Staggering Shot
Deal An Enhanced Amount Of Stun With Ranged Attacks
One of the combat mechanics featured in Avowed is stun. Once the stun bar has been filled, the target is immobilized for a short amount of time, leaving them open to a special attack from the player. No matter the weapon the player has equipped, they can still perform this special attack.

Those who hope to achieve the perfect Stealth Archer build should use this stun mechanic to keep enemies at a distance if they are ever caught. By using the Staggering Shot passive, players can increase the amount of stun damage they do with their bow, making these special attacks occur more often.

Toughness
Increases The Player’s Overall Health
Another great Fighter class passive that will benefit not only the Stealth Archer but also any other build a player is hoping to complete is the Toughness passive. Unlocked to be purchased as soon as the player earns their first skill point, the Toughness skill increases the player’s overall health by a percentage.
While increasing the player’s Constitution Attribute also increases the player’s total health, this added percentage boost will make sure the player lasts longer. Even if a Stealth Archer is far away from the danger, extra health never hurts.

Increases the player’s maximum Health by 20%. |

Rank Two |
Increases the player’s maximum Health by 35%. |
Rank Three |
Increases the player’s maximum Health by 45%. |

Sniper
Damage Against Unaware Targets Is Increased
As a Stealth Archer, the player’s attacks should be against enemies who aren’t aware that they are there. Therefore, Ranger passive skills like Sniper are perfect. This skill increases the damage done by bows and guns that have hit unaware targets.
A Stealth Archer can therefore hope to do significantly more damage while hiding, meaning that they are less likely to be put into situations where they are forced out of stealth and made to fight enemies up close. Ranking up Sniper as they continue to level will also increase the percentage of extra damage done, allowing the skill to scale as enemies get harder to deal with.
Rank One |
Increases ranged damage by 25% on unaware enemies. |

Rank Two |
Increases ranged damage by 35% on unaware enemies. |
Rank Three |
Increases ranged damage by 40% on unaware enemies. |
3
Marksmanship
Increases The Damage Of Bows And Guns
Damage is one of the most important things to consider in any Avowed build, especially one such as the Stealth Archer, where players need to dispatch their enemies as quickly as possible in order to not give up their position.

Thankfully, the Marksmanship passive skill is not only a skill that players can unlock quickly into their Avowed playthrough at level five at the earliest, but it’s also incredibly useful due to it increasing the overall damage done by bows and guns. This, combined with the previous skill, Sniper, can make bows incredibly deadly for dealing with any foe in Avowed.

Steady Aim
Holding A Power Attack Slows Time

At Rank One, this skill already slows time by 25%, but as players level up more, they will be able to slow time significantly to make it much easier to hit those critical hit shots on their targets, even from a distance and while hiding in the shadows.

Shadowing Beyond
Players Become Invisible Until Their Next Attack
- Unlocked: Level Five
- Cost: 40 Essence
- Cooldown: 15 Seconds
Although the majority of skills mentioned for a Stealth Archer build have been passive skills, there is one active Ranger skill that is vital for the Stealth Archer build, and that is Shadowing Beyond. This skill requires the player to use 40 Essence to allow them to make themselves entirely invisible. This invisibility will gradually drain the player’s Essence until they attack.
With this skill acquired, a player no longer needs to hide in the tall grass; they can instead hide in plain sight and wait for the right moment to strike. Ranking up this ability is also necessary, as doing so not only increases its sneak damage but also reduces the amount of Essence it uses.
Rank One |
Become invisible until the next attack or until Essence is drained. |
---|---|
Rank Two |
While invisible, the player gains increased stealth damage and movement speed. |
Rank Three |
The Essence drain while invisible is reduced. |
