Baldur’s Gate 3 has a bunch of playable races, with many other subraces to be found within them. However, now that the game has been with us for well over a year, you might want to mix up your next playthrough even more, which is where this new mod comes in.
Bauldarian Warforged is a mod from Nexus user Mirrismods, and introduces the Warforged into Baldur’s Gate 3. It makes them a playable race with their own description and stat bonuses – and of course, a very, very unique appearance from everyone else you’ll run into.
Playable Warforged Mod Gives You A New Race To Try In Baldur’s Gate 3
You definitely won’t find any NPCs using your face if you’re playing as a Warforged
“Bauldarian Warforged are made from […] a mix of metal, flesh, and wood, but they can feel pain and emotion,” reads the mod’s description. “Built as weapons, they must now find a purpose beyond the war. A warforged can be a steadfast ally, a cold-hearted killing machine, or a visionary in search of purpose and meaning.”
Playing as a Warforged grants you the following skills:
- Constructed Resilience: You were created to have remarkable fortitude. You are immune to disease. and you cannot be put to sleep.
- Integrated Protection: Your body has built-in defensive layers, your AC increases by 1 and your constitution increases by 2.
It’s interesting to note that the Warfroged may have, briefly, been intended to be a playable race in Baldur’s Gate 3. Datamined dialogue during early access included a line specific for Warforged playable characters, although as we now know, this never made it into the final release. In any case, this mod makes them playable for anyone on PC.
