One of the most important mechanics in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is friendship—you can’t unlock quests without strengthening your bond with other characters. These quests sometimes reward you with upgrades, while other times, they unlock even more significant missions. Each character has a unique personality and distinct gift preferences that help build your friendship with them.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure: Complete Gifting Guide
To make friends with the characters in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, you’ll want to give them their favorite gifts!
Since you can only give three gifts per day, you’ll want to choose the best ones. One of these great gifts is the Jack-O-Lantern, which serves as an excellent early-game gift for a specific character. In this guide, we’ll cover where to find the Jack-O-Lantern crafting plan and what materials you need to craft it.
How To Craft A Jack-O-Lantern
To craft a Jack-O-Lantern, you first need to find its crafting plan. To do this, you must reach the Spooky Swamps. If you haven’t unlocked the area yet, completing the ‘Power Up The Gate’ quest in Seaside Resort will grant you access.
If you have visited Spooky Swamps recently, Kuromi is usually near the mailbox just north of the Fwishing Well in the center of the area. From Kuromi’s right, follow the cobblestone path, and after a short walk, you’ll see Visitor Cabin number two on your left.
Stand at the beginning of the wooden bridge next to this cabin and jump left over the iron fence. This will lead you to a dead tree. Nearby, you’ll find a wooden chest on top of the lilypads in the river—inside is the Jack-O-Lantern crafting plan.
Once you’ve obtained the crafting plan, you can craft the Jack-O-Lantern at the crafting bench next to Chococat. Each Jack-O-Lantern requires five pumpkins to craft.
While pumpkins can be found throughout Spooky Swamp, the best place to farm them is the Pumpkin Patch located between Kuromi’s initial meeting spot and Visitor Cabin number two.
The Jack-O-Lantern is categorized as both a Fall and Spooky item. Since it’s a Two Heart Gift, it’s one of the best early-game gifts for Kuromi. Additionally, it makes for a stylish decoration in visitor cabins!
