- Players have also taken issue with the price of Kicks in Fortnite.
Fans of Fortnite have come together to express their disappointment with the battle royale’s latest Best in Show bundle, which features four skins and multiple accessories. The new bundle is full of original designs, which have become less and less frequent as Fortnite has shifted its focus to high-profile collaborations.
Epic Games recently released Chapter 6 Season 2 of Fortnite, which has come with numerous changes to the game’s loot pool, map, and cosmetics. The season focuses heavily on organized crime, which has players planting thermite, breaking into vaults, and cracking safes in an attempt to steal weapons and massive amounts of gold. The battle pass even includes the return of Fortnite‘s golden man himself, Midas. Unfortunately, some of the cosmetics added in the game’s most recent patch have not been welcomed with open arms.

Fortnite players are unhappy with the current state of bonus rewards in Chapter 6 Season 2 of Epic Games’ popular battle royale.
In a post on Reddit, ProdbyPyxlwhip shared the opinion that the Best in Show bundle, which was released on the same day as Fortnite‘s latest update, was poorly designed and overpriced. The four skins are each based on a specific breed of dog: Shiba Inu, Corgi, Dobermann, and French Bulldog. All of them sport similar professional attire and are priced at 1,200 V-Bucks a piece. Unfortunately, that price tag doesn’t come with any accessories, like the back blings, harvesters, or wrap also offered in the Item Shop. To buy everything individually would cost a player 8,100 V-Bucks, but Epic Games has priced the entire bundle at 3,500 V-Bucks. For reference, a pack of 1,000 V-Bucks can be purchased for $8.99 from participating retailers.
Fortnite Players Think the Best in Show Bundle Is Overpriced
- Best in Show Bundle – 3,500 V-Bucks
- Alphonse – 1,200 V-Bucks

Many gamers seemed to feel the same way as ProdbyPyxlwhip, stating that the four designs should have been one skin with multiple edit styles. They also made similar remarks about the dog bowl back blings and tennis ball harvesters. Several people accused the designs of being low-effort and predatory, though others pointed out that nobody was forced to purchase the cosmetics. Despite being advertised alongside every item in the bundle, Fortnite‘s Jam Track for “Who Let The Dogs Out” was not included, much to the disappointment of some fans who thought it was.
This isn’t the only time Epic Games has courted controversy with the pricing of its cosmetics, as many fans have recently taken issue with the cost of Kicks in Fortnite. While some players have enjoyed the addition of sneakers, others are disappointed by the fact that certain Nike or Adidas Kicks can run upwards of 1,000 V-Bucks, making them more expensive than some of the game’s full outfits. Despite a few hiccups with the pricing of skins in the Item Shop, a large portion of the community is feeling optimistic about the newest season of Fortnite.
