Alcremie Flavor Forms And Toppings, Ranked

A sweet fairy type introduced in Generation 8, Alcremie adds another Pokemon to the ever-expanding group of those with dozens of possible forms, somewhat adding a bonus completion quest for players in Scarlet and Violet. While this Sword and Shield Pokemon’s alternate forms don’t alter stats or types in any regard, the changing designs, flavors, and topping options are more than enough to tempt players towards one look over the others.

Since some extravagant Alcremie forms require different times of day and even exclusive events to evolve the simple Milcery, players desiring a certain dessert over the rest also showcase a dedication to the crème treat. There are 63 possible versions of Alcremie, jumping up to 70 with the shiny form. This includes 16 base differences that an Alcremie can have, with nine different flavors and seven different toppings. At least for the basic choices, the sweetest flavors and toppings stand high above the rest.

Flower Sweet

Spring And Summery Dessert

One of the more toy-shaped sweets instead of the expected toppings for a creme dessert, the Flower Sweet doesn’t quite work with the color schemes for most the Alcremie flavors. As there are already two toppings with red or pink colors, the orange tone for the Flower Sweet does make sense, even if it is the least candy-like option.

Star Sweet

Out Of This World

Much like the Flower Sweet, the Star Sweet borders more on the toy-like side of topping designs, and has a color that doesn’t quite gel with the many flavors of Alcremie available in the Blueberry Academy. Along with being a rarer topping, and only being available through the Item Printer, the Star Sweet may work well with the Lemon and Rainbow creme flavors, but is otherwise far too striking.

Clover Sweet

St. Patrick’s Day Candy

A simple but effective combination of greens, the Clover Sweet pairs well with the often brown or red colors of several Alcremie variants. The deep green works far better than the neon yellow of the previous Sweet, along with being found at least once naturally in one of the Terarium biomes. The Clover Sweet topping may be slightly more situational than most of the toppings, as the Clover design is certainly less of a general sweet than the Star, Flower, and later entries.

Strawberry Sweet

Crème’s Perfect Pair

A classic combination, the Strawberry Sweet works well with pretty much every flavor and color of Alcremie, even if it is slightly generic compared to other Sweets. Adding little strawberries to pin up Alcremie’s “hair,” the topping is still one of the better options for this dessert-focused Fairy type. The strawberry colors work with just about every possible palette, and the sweet is fairly easy to find.

Berry Sweet

Very Berry Blue

A counterpart to the strawberry topping, the Berry Sweet offers players a blueberry option to decorate their Alcremie with. Found easily across various biomes in the Terarium, this Sweet is also a convenient option. With most Alcremie having blue or white colors, the blue of the Berry Sweet pairs perfectly with several flavor options.

Love Sweet

Valentine’s Treat

One of the most fitting choices for this tiny, cutesy fairy type, the Love Sweet is easily one of the best choices for every possible flavor of Alcremie. The pinks of the heart-shaped topping only add to both the candy and fairy nature of Alcremie, making it a great and accessible choice. While the Love Sweet is prime for any Valentine’s Day-themed Alcremie, especially following the promoted Raid event, the heart-shaped topping is great for Alcremie at any time.

Ribbon Sweet

A Bow On Top

One of the rarer choices for Alcremie’s topping, the Ribbon Sweet is just as perfect as the Love Sweet as a potential Sweet option. As the Ribbon Sweet can only reliably be obtained by the Item Printer, only truly dedicated players can end up with this topping, making this a more exclusive creme dessert.

Ruby Swirl

Multi-Flavored

A slightly weird color option for Alcremie, the Ruby Swirl feels like a combination of two other potential flavors, but in a worse way. Instead of the pink color making up most of the design, as a name like Ruby Swirl would imply, the fade to pink at the tips of a buttercream body isn’t quite as striking as the alternative flavors players can pick instead.

Salted Cream

Bright White

Perhaps the most neutral option for this usually colorful Pokemon, the Salted Cream flavor gives players the choice to have the creamiest Alcremie possible. A bright white, with some blue highlights, the Salted Cream option works well with any Sweet, making it a great, if basic, choice.

Vanilla Cream

A Simple Choice

Easily the most expected version of Alcremie, the Vanilla Cream flavor is also one of the fastest choices to grab, alongside being the base flavor. With slight hints of pink and purple swirling throughout the creme, this flavor has slightly more personality than the Salted Cream, and it works better with certain red-toned Sweets than others.

Ruby Cream

Touch Of Pink

Offering a perfectly pink option to match with the Love Sweet, the Ruby Cream Alcremie fully leans into being a pink, cutesy fairy type as opposed to the similar Ruby Swirl, which can only somewhat handle the concept of pink. Like the Vanilla Cream, the Ruby Cream is easily obtained by spinning the player’s trainer around counterclockwise briefly during daylight hours.

Matcha Cream

Earthy Option

A somewhat unconventional choice, the Matcha Cream offers a subtle green tint to Alcremie, which works well with most of the toppings available. While the Matcha flavor is nice on its own, the green color doesn’t quite fit the look or feel of Alcremie compared to the other possible options.

Mint Cream

Brightly Flavored

A wintery flavor for Alcremie, the Mint Cream variant adds a soft blue swirl to the Pokemon’s design, which might not pair well with the idea of a fairy type, but does work great with the various toppings and eye colors.

One of the more demanding requirements for the evolution, players wanting a minty fresh Alcremie will have to anticlockwise for longer than five seconds during the night.

One of the more unique choices for Alcremie, the Lemon Cream flavor offers a classic yellow look that lives up to the lemon name. As this flavor grants the fairy type a brighter color than the usual options, many Sweets tend to shine far more on this Alcremie.

A wholly unique color for Alcremie to have, and not seen in another possible flavor, the Caramel Swirl adds a hint of a light caramel brown to this creme-based Pokemon, adding an excellent base for the many Sweets to spice up. On top of being a great neutral and dessert-forward color choice, the Caramel Swirl is also a simple flavor to obtain, requiring a clockwise spin during the day for over five seconds.

A Rare Treat

Easily the most difficult standard flavor to obtain, the Rainbow Swirl Alcremie is well worth the challenge and annoyance to get. Obtained by spinning counterclockwise for over 10 seconds during the brief window of dusk, only the most dedicated of trainers desiring this colorful dessert can obtain this premier flavor.

Shiny Colors

The Hidden Flavor

A bonus and far rarer flavor of Alcremie, the seeming cookies-and-cream color of the shiny form is a top-tier treat for trainers to collect. While the black and white could be a boring color combination for a dessert-focused Pokemon, the contrast of these colors to the nine other options elevates shiny Alcremie well above the rest, though certainly on par with the Rainbow Swirl.
