Tony Hawk Website Introduces Mysterious New Countdown
A pair of remasters for the third and fourth Tony Hawk Pro Skater games would round out what many consider to be the franchise’s golden years. Pro Skater 3 stands as not only one of the highest-rated video games on the PlayStation 2, but is also considered by many to be one of the all-time greatest games. Pro Skater 4 was also instrumental in moving the franchise into its next era, overhauling the Career Mode missions into a format that more closely resembles later games’ Story Mode.
The resurgence of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater has been coupled with a rise in new skateboarding games throughout the gaming industry. EA confirmed it is working on a new game in the Skate franchise, recently expanding testing for the game to home consoles. Several indie games centered around skateboarding have also seen success with fans, including 2022’s OlliOlli World which received a nomination for “Best Sports/Racing Game” at the 2022 Game Awards. Tony Hawk Pro Skater‘s new remasters will see some of the franchise’s most beloved games receive a fresh coat of paint.
